5.0 out of 5 stars Canon Powershot A2400IS
I already have a canon EOS and I was looking for a small pocket camera to replace an old Nikon camera. At the discounted price on Amazon of £79.99 for the Canon Powershot I did not think I could lose. I rather expected a cheap camera at that price. However I am amazed at the quality of pictures and features available comparable to much more expensive cameras. Amazing...

1.0 out of 5 stars don't go off the reviews to make a purchase-RETURNED CAMERA AFTER FIRST TIME USING IT!!!!!
Picture quality doesn't look like 16MP rather than 14MP. The camera has problems focusing as the screen becomes all fuzzy and blurry.
Besides that, the flash takes a lot of time to get ready to fire the first time so if the camera is off and you want to take a picture, be sure to turn on the camera some time before that, which in most cases isn't possible so you'll...

5.0 out of 5 stars So far, so good!,
This review is from: Canon PowerShot A2400 IS Digital Camera - Silver (16.0 MP, 5x Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)It takes very good clear pictures, and it has a very good zoom option. I am pleased with it to date.
4.0 out of 5 stars canon,

5.0 out of 5 stars powershot is powerful!!,
This review is from: Canon PowerShot A2400 IS Digital Camera - Silver (16.0 MP, 5x Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)great little camera!!! does exactly what it says on the tin!!canon never fail to please in any of their products........
4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent little camera,
4.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad camera for the money I paid.,
+ Relatively cheap to buy (depending on the colour you buy!)
+ Good set of features for the price
+ Reasonable quality of pictures and 720p HD video for a camera at this price.
+ Small size and weight (94.4 x 54.2 x 20.1mm, and 126g including battery & card)
+ Metal tripod mount
+ One touch movie recording button
- Manual contains information for six other models along with the A2400 iS. I don't know if Canon has some perverse wish to annoy people who buy their base model cameras, but throwing the information for 7 cameras into one manual is a good starting point!
- Optical zoom not usable once video recording has started (only digital zoom). However this is only a relatively cheap camera so you can't
expect too much.
When buying a suitable card for the camera (as it does not come with a card) to store the images on, it is compatible with:
SD, SDHC, SDXC cards, (speed class 6 or higher is recommended). I use 8Gb SDHC speed class 10.

HD movies (720p) with movie button:
>>>[This is the first HD standard, defined by the number of vertical pixels, in this case 720, so I don't know why the Canon manual is so
fond of quoting the horizontal pixel count of 1280? This has all the hallmarks of marketing department over hyping. There is a one
touch movie recording button.]
