This review is from: The Marriage Mart (Kindle Edition)
The Marriage Mart was an easy read, but I felt it lacked real depth. The hero spends most of the book being a total bastard, and when, towards the end, the heroine devines that he behaves that way in order to cover an inner insecurity, that revelation comes completely out of the blue, with nothing at all to back it up.

Similarly, Athena goes from disliking Renfrew to loving him really quickly without the reader really having been given much to like about him, so her rapid falling in love makes no sense. To be fair, there are glimpses here and there throughout the book that the Duke has a sense of humour and that there could be a true marriage of minds between him and Athena, but we don't see enough of his charm or humour on the page, and it's difficult to see just what Athena sees in him (apart from his immense wealth and good looks).

So, not a bad way to pass a rainy couple of hours, but not something I'll be desperate to re-read.
