Very good buy if your looking for a standard camera that will do the job. Recording works well. The screen on the camera is okay. not that clear when reviewing your photos youve taken. But when you load your photos to the computer. You can see the quality is quite good!

Very good and easy to use. Is just what my daughter (age 14) wanted. Small, compact. However you do have to hold it very still to get a focused image, but when you do it right then the image is quite good. Different modes for lighting or activity such as 'beach' or 'sport'. Recommend using these! Overall a good piece of kit.

Arrived promptly as per the usual efficient Amazon service. It is a good straight forward camera for day to day use. Simple to use in its auto mode, easy zoom function, a video mode and importantly for us has a nice large LCD viewing screen. Only regret is that it uses replaceable AA alkaline batteries instead of a rechargeable lithium but for the price this is just a niggle. Overall we are pleased with the camera and its good value.

This is only the 2nd digi cam I've owned, the first was twice the price. I'm very happy with it. Although a little slow with taking a shot according to settings/flash/light conditions etc, but at this price I won't complain. Loving the range of shot options but I find it great just to use the easy shot option.
The only negatives I find..... the battery cover may be easy to open by accident if holding it with thumb under the camera, and the USB slot is underneath...would prefer a side loaded slot.
Great camera though,... tested against a straight shot of a fully lit 100 watt light bulb from 4 feet away and the picture was crystal clear with no glare at all.

Bargain buy - we purchased some time ago, a bridge camera from Amazon, with a eye-piece viewfinder as my wife got really annoyed trying to take photos in the sun with the LCD screen camera we had - couldn't see what we were photographing. It's brilliant but it's not pocket shaped if you get my meaning so we needed something handier.

This is the business - nice and wee and fits in a jacket pocket or even a shirt pocket, has a nice wee zoom, massive LCD screen, usual "fancy dan" settings we'll probably not use but lovely "nice to haves" great fotos and solid but light handling. Cracking wee bit of kit - we got it with a hard shell case - looks wild, and we got it in red just to be different from the usual silver or black. Love it!

Just wanted a simple camera to use & this is it, only disappointment is that it is operated by batteries, would have preferred to be able to charge it instead. Hope the batteries hold out & not like a previous camera we had when they run out rapidly.

I bought this camera (not from Amazon but the retailer is not the problem here) for a carry-everywhere item. It wasn't too expensive, quite cheap really and it shows in the image quality. From the very first photograph I could see that the images were not sharp, even blowing up slightly revealed noise on the pictures. I tried all settings but nothing would improve things. I carried out a comparison with my Nikon D7000 SLR (for reference only as that would truly be an unfair test) and with my very, very old Nikon Coolpix 880, 3.3 Mp camera. Of the two compacts, the old 880 outshone the L25 by far and despite the low price of the L25 I would have thought that modern technology would have made my old 880 look prehistoric.

The batteries lasted a very short time, probably 50 pictures in all before the battery warning light came on, another set of AA's lasted about the same even though checking both sets revealed that the charge was fine. I used this as an excuse to take the camera back and get an altenative as I gather AA batteries are not too good on compact camera's but the real reason was the poor quality of the images.

In the end I had it replaced with a Fujifilm compact for the same price and saw immediately that the image quality was much, much better. The battery life is still not on a par with Li-On batteries but only when used with flash.

I have had three Nikon compacts in the last fifteen years and only the first, the 880, was any good (I still use it for close-ups of insects as it has a fantastic lens giving super sharp pictures).

Pro's: Cheap for a Nikon
Con's: Too expensive for a Nikon with poor image quality.

I shan't buy another Nikon compact.

My D7000 however is completely the opposite, if you are looking for an excellent DSLR then the D7000 will do almost everything you want and very, very well.

I bought this for my son who seems to be taking quite a few very average photos on his mobile, yet the composition is good so I thought camera for pressie and let's see.

These are only first impressions as it is a Christmas pressie for him. !!!!
It shoots pretty accurately colourwise and the zoom works quietly and smoothly.
The screen is fairly easy to see and clear in most lights although in sunlight, as with most screens it becomes hard to work out exactly what you are getting in shot !!! (Why on cheaper cameras won't they incorporate a basic optical viewfinder? No zoom necessary so that you can see roughly what's in picture ??? !!!! MANUFACTURERS TAKE NOTE !!!!)

Overall the pictures are GREAT from such a small camera with a pretty good zoom to get in close. There are many useful features including image stabilising, anti red eye and lots more which will need to be investigated by him.

I just pointed and pressed and must confess the shots are up to if not better than my much more more expensive Canon which I have been using for 6 months and sort of understand!!!!!

Overall this is a great bit of kit that is light, simple and easy to use if you want just that but, with effort and imagination it will take pretty outstanding pictures and for the price brilliant !!!!

Nikon 1 v for me next I think on the basis of this. Although can I justify over £500 to the wife ?? HMMM

i bought one and was very happy with it .i have always had Nikon all the way back to the F2 fully manual back in the 1970s .this little compact will do for 99% of photographic work it also come with a F2.8 lens SO WELL WROTH IT .THE FUJI around the same price is also worth a look .if the Nikon is out of stock .i will be purchasing 2 more Nikon's this weeks for prezzie.as a semi pro photographer {back in the day } i wish this camera would have been available as it would have done around 80% of my work .the nearest thing to it then was the Olympus trip .those not too well up on camera tip for you always go for OPTICAL ZOOM NOT DIGITL AND ALWAYS GO FOR A LOWEST F number for the lens .2.8 is good 5.6 is not so good .if this camera was available back in the 1980 it would have cost around 700 pounds for the technology so its a bargain .always get a Nikon over any other camera if you can get this camera [as I think its discontinued } then look out for a bargain it was around 100 pounds when it first came out I think you will be able to pick one up for less than 30 pounds if you are lucky you will not be disappointed its a bargain and a very high quality camera if I had the money I would buy another to keep as a spare .there that good I have 300 pound bridge Fuji and I will always use the L25 Nikon first unless I need a massive zoom

I like this camera, it's a bit annoying though because the focus isn't brilliant - faces go blurry even with the smart portrait option. And the shutter is a little delayed meaning taking photographs of my kids is difficult, you get them perfectly still then click the button and about 3 seconds later you've captured an image of one of them pointing in the other direction and one making a silly face!

It'd be good for nights out, or holidays, but for family photos I'd rather have my SLR.
