Portishead has great sounds and Hip Hop already pointed out their beats here and there sometimes but this one is total Hip Hop with many collaborations for an album as full as an egg.

this is hip-hop at its finest. Turned me on to Tone Tank as well. It rarely gets better than this.

The question is what is not too like about this album. Well, it only loses a star because I feel this beats would have been great for Edan or Mf Doom to rap to, but some of the MCs are lacklustre at times. The beats are absolute quality but man cannot live by beats alone. Any lover of hip hop will feel this album, but it hasn't really got an overarching them, except braggadocio and thankfully it's not references to money, girls etc that you get from your stereotypical MCs but rather each rapper spends the entire time detailing how ill they are. What's not to love about that ? Well, it slowly wears on you and you actually stop listening to the lyrics by the time you get half way through the record. The beats are absolutely stellar though

If you put this album in your ear it sounds very very nice indeed. If you like hip hop with crusty beats that make your head nod, Buy this!!!
