I bought this for my two sons for Christmas, thought it would be great fun it looks great and the jumps are great. However, within a couple of plays the Aston Martin stopped working altogether and has rarely worked since,no matter how much fiddling around with the connections, trouble shooting, swapping over spare parts, by uncles, grandparents and parents. After Christmas put away and then taken back out again recently, now the Range Rover has got problems, both work periodically in fits and starts,if at all - its just boring having to fiddle around all the time. Shame because it looks really cool, but don't buy, our one is just completely unreliable, perhaps bit of lottery, not everyone seems to have these problems judging by other reviews, but surely it should be a bit more robust, it drove us up the wall and £120 odd!. How do I get my money back?

The Range Rover was making a horrendous noise and kept stopping. The DB5 head light has fallen out and generally the quality of the cars are poor. The ramp wasn't brilliant and for the price and given that cars are racing at speed, I would have expected the whole thing to be more robust. My son on his 11th birthday is rather disappointed.

Bought this for my grandson, and played with it twice, each time for about an hour. However, the second time the blade on the Range Rover snapped off making it useless, on Boxing Day, very frustrating after paying such a large amount for it. Why do they put wing mirrors and wiper blade on something that spins and crashes with the other car at the crossroads, all are now broken off, and very difficult to stick back. I have seen spare parts for this, but needed after only two uses, unbelievable.

Bought it for my 8 years old son for Christmas. My husband managed to break one of the cars 1 day after opening the box.

Apart from that they are having a lot of fun with this track and he loves playing it with his friends

This is a very good set, packed with track features. The jump feature works particularly well, once you get used to it. Two slight reservations, both due to the cars. The first is that the bumpers, lights etc aren't that durable, and since the track has a crossover and jump, crashes are inevitable; we've lost quite a few bits of both cars in a couple of weeks. Secondly, the cars aren't very well matched; in our household whoever has the Aston wins every time. In fact, the Aston beats both our Scalextric Nissan GT-Rs as well. Overall, though, excellent fun.

Both my son and grandson were thrilled with their sets at Christmas. Son's daughters had to be bought Minis so as not to wreck the Aston!

If I had looked and checked beforehand I would have realised this covers a lot of floor space. So its a struggle for where to put it .

Great starter set of scalextric! My only negative comment would be that you would have to buy another car instead of the Range Rover as it doesn't race very well.
Bought it for my son's 7th birthday and it has been a hit with the whole family.
I wouldn't buy it for younger kids, as it is quite fragile.

Given the price this was very disappointing. The car was very plasticky and having build it on Christmas Day, one car did not work and one handset started smoking on use. Being returned for a refund. One very disappointed 10yr old.
