5.0 out of 5 stars A nasty piece of work.
Another After Dark Films release.

Basic premise has Lily retreating to a new life at Cassadaga after her sister is killed in a tragic accident. Traumatised by her loss, Lily seeks the help of a medium to connect with her sister. Instead, she connects with a darker spirit which possesses her and leads her down a self-destructive and sinister path.

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh it's not the worst horror film!
The main actress Kelen Coleman is amazing in this film, its a shame the film wasn't amazing! It'a a decent enough watch but its predictable, generic and barely creepy or scary but there is much much worse out there!

A good supernatural/serial killer film. When Lily goes to stay at Cassadaga after the death of her sister she starts a new relationship and visits a local spiritualist. After the visit strange things start happening ,as the ghost of a young woman who is haunting her desparately leads her to the identity of an unknown serial killer .I enjoyed it ,it is a bit different from the usual turnout.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very basic plot spread way to thin for a feature length film., 12 July 2014

Tedious to the extreme, with a handful of jump scares. Plot doesn't have the depth or complexity to warrant a feature length film really. The quotes on the cover and the plot summary fool you into thinking you're in for something depraved and shocking. This couldn't be farther from the truth! There are a couple of almost bloodless gore effects, and that's it. In short, not even worth watching for the gore alone, and certainly not for the tedious plot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Deeper than I expected, 18 April 2012
This review is from: Cassadaga [DVD] (DVD)
This film was deeper and more nuanced than I expected. The cover and tagline don't do the film justice. This has a legitimately compelling story with realistic characters.

3.0 out of 5 stars Move along - nothing to see here, 26 Mar 2013

Judging by some of the online comments about Cassadaga, I was expecting something a bit special out of this indie horror. Sadly, there just didn't seem to be much new here to really stand out.

It's okay - that's about it. It's one of those films where a young woman gets mixed up with something spooky. Obviously, no one believes her and she does that thing they do in all horror films where they research it on the internet and then seek out `professional' help.

It's definitely not bad. There are a few pretty sick scenes (nicely executed - no pun intended) for the gore hounds and everyone plays their part pretty well. However, it descends into territory where, if you're an avid horror watcher, you'll have seen it all before - how many times does the heroine knock over the killer and then just run away instead of continuing to batter him to death? Well, you get that sort of thing here.

If you can be bothered with another horror film, you could do worse. Sadly there's nothing here that is that memorable or that will lift it out of that vast middle ground of straight-to-DVD horror flicks.

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid, 19 May 2012
This review is from: Cassadaga [DVD] (DVD)
Rubbish/boring thriller, Screwed up kid grows up to become physco serial killer, women gets visited by the the dead to stop the killer,Yawn.
What made me laugh about this film was half the budget must have been spent on kelen colemans wardrobe, she has more costume changes than a Lady GaGa concert, she wears a different set of revealing/sexy outfits every 5 minutes.
When buying these straight to dvd thriller/horror movies its always a gamble, you can get sum real stinkers or you can stumble across sum little gems, unfortunatly this film is a stinker, save your money and look elsewhere.
