First the good: it's really use friendly
on 25 August 2014
I have been using this app for a couple of years, since before they introduced the pro version. First the good: it's really use friendly, easy to import, easy to search, easy to customise. Functionally it's worth 5 stars.
The problem for me is the price of the pro version and limitation to 100 recipes for the free version. Start using this and i guarantee you will invest time in it. You will be proud of your own personal recipe binder, each recipe categorised so neatly: notes added, corrections made, photos taken. Of course once committed, you will easily hit 100 recipes and you will need to pay the pro fees every year. So when deciding whether to pay for the pro version, or even when trying out the free version, consider the price as the annual subscription multiplied by the number of years you expect to live. For me that's too much: I can afford it but you have to keep a check on this sort of repeat spending. Obviously you need a spotify subscription. Some people need to pay the strava fees. Extra year on year spend to manage recipes? What if they put the price up?
Personally and for this reason I've not used it since they introduced the limitation to 100 recipes. I just don't want to invest more time on something that is not a strategic solution for me. It's with a heavy heart because there's really no better app for managing recipes. The only alternative I can offer is offline web pages stored as bookmarks. No way near as good but at least it's free.
