4.0 out of 5 stars The hits, the rarities, the whole story

3.0 out of 5 stars Kaja ohno!
The quality of the product (CD) is excellent. The quality of the material on it is debatable, but that a "neverending story"I think that this group should be left in the 80s

Kajagoogoo was an often misunderstood but much beloved group from the 80's.Many people know only their big hit "Too Shy" but the group isn't just "one hit wonder" as they had more singles in the charts and their albums contained some well made and beautiful tracks. After their first album "White Feathers", frontman Limahl was forced to leave the band due to creative differences and the group continued to a more funkier way while Limahl kept with his solo efforts faithful to the pop of White Feathers.
Although after the departure of Limahl neither the rest of the band (Nick Beggs,Steve Askew, Stuart Croxford Neale and Jez Strode),nor their ex singer repeated the success they had before,i do believe that they hadn't lack of talent and i personally still enjoy listening their songs-though i must confess that i prefer the "White Feathers" period and Limahl's solo efforts.
So here in this collection we have all the hits-Too shy (the album version and the midnight mix),Hang On Now (so seductive after all these years),Ooh To Be A(my personal favourite from White Feathers),Big Apple (in two versions),The Lion's Mouth (i love this song!),Turn Your Back On Me and Limahl's solo hit Neverending Story from the movie of the same name.
But we also find in this collection some beautiful album tracks from Kajagoogoo(White Feathers,Monochromatic,The Power To Forgive,Charm Of A Gun,Shouldn't Do That)and Limahl:Don't Send For Me(one of his best),Inside To Outside (wonderful!),Only For Love,Tar Beach,Love In your Eyes,Love Will Tear The Soul and Colour All My Days.
Also we find some rarities like the b-sides Animal Instincts,Interview Rooms (it should be included in White Feathers),Take Another View and the instrumentals The Pump Rooms Of Bath and The Garden.
With the exception of one track (Introduction-a waste of space-why not include "This Car Is Fast" or "Lies And Promises" instead?)this collection is a complete portrait for Kajagoogoo and Limahl. And quite enjoyable too!
