5.0 out of 5 stars If you go down to the woods today......
Listening to Be Strong you know that a lot of fun was had making this album. Joe Goddard (Hot Chip) and Raf Rundell (Greco Roman Soundsystem) have produced a dance album, shot through with humour and melody. It reminds you of 90's dance tracks at times, Ian Dury at others and occasionally their day jobs. The lead single, Bear Hug, is a bit of a false signal of intent...

Joe Goddard from Hot Chip and his mate Raf Rundell have made a stunning Album of Old school Dance with Catchy Melodies.

Last years single 'Bear Hug' Launched them with it's Humerous lyrics and Frank Bruno Vocals.

Those who dismissed that as a Novelty record can now see the 2 Bears have made a clever album Which at the same time is Fun and draws on many sub genres of Dance.
Highlights are: Work, Heart of the Congo and Church.

This album will feature in many a chart of the year come the end of 2012

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing after the early e.p's. (It ain't house no more!), 1 April 2012

After owning & literally playing to death the Follow The Bears, Bear Hug & Curious Nature E.p's I was looking forward to this album, but on listening I am very disappointed.

Why? - well the 3 e.p's above total 12 songs followed a brilliant house music range of songs, even the 2 cover versions (Mercy me & The lunatics have taken over the asylum) were amazing house re-workings of old classics.

The main trouble her is the vocals are changed from the pitched down style & the musics become more pop. The album reminds me of a cross between Hot-Chip & The Beloved's indie pop house album from the 90's.

Unless they change styles back I will leave the bears here & wish them luck, but a shame really. The potential to continue being floor fillers has gone.
Shame.
