5.0 out of 5 stars Look At The Price!!!!, 17 Jun 2008

The prices asked for this CD show just how difficult it is to get hold of. I wouldn't spend such vast sums to obtain a copy. It's not that it isn't worth it to a collector or fan, but I managed to get my old vinyl version transcribed into mp3 (and cleaned up and I'm sure if you browse the second hand vinyl stores this is bound to turn up somewhere, or was I just bloody lucky?). It actually shows all the many facets of this band. From the really hard rock of "Loud Green Song" to the totally irreverent, bawdy, and very rude "Mummy" (A classic part of the stage act). So, if you know anyone who can get you a copy of this, by any means possible, do it. It's also worth pointing out that after Patto split, a band named Boxer emerged, making another very rare and sought after CD entitled "Below The Belt" featuring the very naked page 3 lady Stephanie Marrion spread-eagle on the cover. My copy did not have the strategically spray painted boxing glove on it to preserve her modesty as subsequent pressings did. Also got this put onto CD from vinyl. None of the great albums ever get re-released on CD....Why? If the record companies really want to stamp out peer to peer file sharing, then release things like this on CD!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Whatever you do...DON'T MAKE IT SOUND LIKE SERGIO MENDES!, 1 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
One of the most irreverent & effortlessly brilliant recordings of all time by perhaps the most tragic group of all: two members sadly now dead & one to this day unable to remember anything about his musical career. But no pathos or navel-gazing here; this is pure joy from start to finish. The quality of the singing, playing & songwriting is on a different planet to 95% of rock music. It mixes rock, jazz, blues & soul, all infused with insane, scatalogical humour: the exuberance of this record is utterly infectious. Impossible to compare them to anyone else. Patto stand alone to this day; far too good & far too concerned with enjoying themselves to have ever been commercially successful. Their 1st 2 LPs are great too but this is their finest moment. If you enjoy great rock music & don't take it too seriously, this is for you.

This review is from: ROLL'EM SMOKE'EMPUT ANOTHER LINE OUT+ 7 INEDITS LIVE 70/71 (Audio CD)
It is impossible to write a proper review of this album as it has no peers. Nothing to compare it to. It is so original, loose and brilliantly played it must be contender for the best album ever made.
