I must admit I was very sceptical about this tape. I suffer from patella misalignment which makes running very painfull and traditional supports only make it worse.
I have been training for a sprint triathlon and found that once the tape was applied my knee remained pain free. It sticks like glue despite daily swims in the local pool but I tend to take it off after about 7 days as it starts to look a bit tatty.
There are clear video instructions on how to apply the tape on the KT website.
I can't praise KT Tape Pro enough, great product and I'm definately buying more!

I bought this having used KT Tape Pro before and had fantastic results.
I applied the tape as I usually do but this time it fell off after about an hour, so I tried again after fully exfoliating and prepping the area but after a couple of hours it fell off!!!!.
I have returned this item as every other time I've used KT Tape Pro it has stuck fast for over a week despite daily running, cycling and swimming. As an avid fan of KT Tape I'm very disappointed.

I was a little skeptical about trying this product as I couldn't really see how attaching tape to your skin could have any effect on the muscles.
I recently pulled my calf muscle whilst jogging and it's a recurring injury that I get quite often and it usually lays me up for weeks. Out of desperation, I thought I'd give KT tape a try, but I wasn't really expecting any results.
The tape is relatively easy to apply, but it's very important to follow the instructions to the letter to get the best results. I had to shave the back of my leg to ensure the tape stuck to my calf as any sign of hairs and the tape has no chance of sticking. Also, take your time when applying ensuring you don't touch the sticky side with your fingers and rub the tape down firmly to ensure it sticks.
With the leg prepared, I find the tape stays on for about 3 - 4 days and that includes showering twice a day.
First off, I though the tape was having no effect, but after 3 days of wearing, I noticed the pain in my calf reducing considerably.
After 6 days, my calf was good enough to start jogging again and after 10 days, I have no indication of any calf injury whatsoever and am back to running 7km 3 - 4 times a week.
Now, bearing in mind that before applying the tape, I could hardly put any weight on my injured leg and was limping badly and that this recurring injury usually puts me out of running for 6 - 8 weeks, the results really do seem to have been amazing!
I'm now a believer in KT tape and will definitely use it again on future injuries.

I purchased this product to help me cope with Shin splints. The tape is excellent value for money. I used the product yesterday before a 6 mile power walk to see if it would help ease the pain from my shin splints. I watched a video on line on how to apply the tape and away i went (really easy to apply). I could not feel the tape at all and it no way hinders you. During my walk I had very little pain and the tape had certainly done what it said it would.

The only downside to the tape is when you come to take it off. I felt like a child taking a plaster off ouch!

I figured I'd give the KT Pro (synthetic) tape a go for supporting a constantly cracking patella.
The Pro tape is supposed to be waterproof and last 4-7 days...
It isn't and it doesn't.

I taped up around 4.30, went to a boxing class at 7, and by 7.40 the tape was hanging off. It tightened up again somewhat as I dried, but as soon as I showered all three strips came clean off.
Not impressed.

EDIT: Having tried again on a run and another class, if I could take away that one star, I would. The tape managed to stay on for most of the run but caused excruciating shooting pains down the lateral side of the leg. It didn't even make it to the other class before it started to come off. It sticks just enough to painfully pull leg hair off, but not nearly enough to regulate muscle movement. I'd love to be able to recommend this as it's a fantastic idea, but I just can't.

This tape is brilliant! I had previously bought tape from a leading chemist, at the same sort of price (they've reduced it recently!), and it was much flimsier and nowhere near as sticky as KT PRO Tape.

Having had major knee problems most of my adult life, it's brilliant to find something that supports my knees, and can help my quads take the strain, as I still play 5-a-side.

As well as the support, its adherence to the skin is impressive. You can shower and it will remain stuck (I think following the instructions about rubbing the tape when first putting it on seems important in this respect). I haven't tried keeping the tape on for much more than 1 and a half days, but I can imagine that it would last the 3/4 days people claim.

I'm totally sold on this tape, and would highly recommend it.

This tape is pre cut which makes it so much easier to use. If you follow the instructions to the letter then the tape will stay in place for over three days, The instructions clearly state apply on clean skin at least 1 hour before any activity. Also do make sure you rub the tape once it has been applied to activate the glue. If you follow these instructions then it will stay in place if you don't it wont pretty simple really.

As for the support if offers it is great. I do a lot of running and use it on my knees and ankles and I have found that it has made a massive difference. I would not be without this tape now and if you have an niggles I strongly recommend this product.

I was expecting great things from the reviews I had read, but the tape does not stick very well at all. Have reverted to a cheaper brand that holds very well.

I have recently started to have problems with my knee's through over use. I do alot of sport mainly football and have "IT BAND".

I had purchased the Pro KT tape at first as a experiment to see how effective it can be with the re-occuring injury. I must admit the 3-4 days people say it stays on fpr is not something that I was able to acheive but in fairness it does state to apply and hour before excercise which I have not be able to stick to.

Don't let this discourage you as it works a treat. I was amazed of how effective it was and by following the application instruction I am able to play 2 hours of football with no oain or discomfort.

I tested this by doing the same level of execerise without the tape and the pain is unbareable. I have now ordered more tape its a expensive habit to have an I should see a specialist but as a short term solution I would recommed it.

One last thing the different colours have nothing to do with strenths and where you should apply it, there all the same its just a selection of colours.

A bit disappointing, the tape started coming loose within minutes of starting to train. I play volleyball and was hoping to use the tape to help with my injured thumb, the tutorials on the kt tape website were very easy to follow. I followed all instructions and still the tape came loose. I beg to differ that this tape would stay on for up to a week, i had to use additional tape and support bandages during matches to keep that tape in place. Also not sure how much it actually did help, placebo effect prehaps??
