Hellworld is the 8th Hellraiser film in the series, straight to DVD sequel again as they have all been since part 5. The story is pretty good and has another slightly different twist than previous films, the Cenobites are under used and Doug Bradley plays pinhead for around 5 minutes of screen time max, these sequels are not meant to be viewed like the originals they are stories set within the Hellraiser mythology and feature pinhead, but the main thing is there , the puzzle box and the taking your soul to hell theme that comes with it, great for any true fan who can understand what has been done here but anyone else will probably tune out and not get it purely based on watching the original and not remembering the under theme of the series!! There is some good gore scenes and the ending is a good pay off for fans.

Hellraiser has had a mixed array of sequels from the terrific to the silly, Hellworld is silly. Wes Craven's New Nightmare faux kind of story where Pinhead and the Cenobites are portrayed as fictional by the characters...interesting but in my opinion it fails. Usually the case with direct DVD sequels is their poorly cast and have at least some idea where the story is going, here we have the opposite...a fantastic cast with Doug Bradley, Lance Henricksen and Cavill who would later go on to star in Immortals, Man of Steel etc...but a pretty poor story that doesnt seem to flow. Its not all bad its the last film to star Bradley as Pinhead and the cenobites as usual look as cool as ever with some gruesome gore. The acting for the most part is consistently good in quality. As far as sequels go the Hellraiser franchise doesnt have very many bad sequels so we should be at least thankful.

Again We have a direct to Video entry that's Original story had no link to the Series but was taken down, had the dust blown off it and Cenobites added on every Couple of pages (and given the distinct lack of Bradley, not that many of them). Not A strong story but not bad and it does have The Legendary Lance Henriksen who makes anything worth watching.

Not very good at all. After the fourth one they all go downhill.

Disgrace to the Hellraiser series that it shouldn't count as a sequel. It has nothing to do with the actual story at all and that the director should apologise to Clive Barker. A complete joke. The only good thing is Henry Cavill is in it even though he plays a complete jerk.

And so my quest to watch the Hellraiser sequels continues, although up until now I've been mildly surprised, don'y get me wrong they're not great, but have been watchable. Until I watched this one. My interest was piqued when I saw Lance Henrikson's name on the credits as he's usually entertaining to watch, but while he is the best part of the film he isn't enough on his own to lift it.

The main issue is that it's fairly standard horror with the Hellraiser element being little more than branding for a fairly pedestrian series of deaths. The setup was mildly interesting in that there is an online game based on the cenobite mythos, winning the game grants an invitation to a Hellworld party and it's at the party that the victims meet the host, played by Lance Henrikson.

There are a few twists along the way, but for the most part it lacks imagination. The cenobite appearences are little more than slasher murders and lack the disturbing pain/pleasure combination that the series is famed for.

Eventually we reach the end and there's a series of reveals that managed to raise an eyebrow, but only in congratulation to myself at predicting their occurence. I've not watched them all, but for me this is the worst Hellraiser sequel yet.

It's ok but really it's just 'Friday The 13th' with pinhead and the Hellraiser puzzle box as a side gimmick.

Unfortunately the demise of the series since Hellraiser-3 continues.
The only part of this film that i enjoyed was the end, there are very few cenobite scenes and it reminds me of a poor version of the Blair Witch Project.
This is one of the worst of the bad Hellraiser films in my opinion.
