Wow! What a fantastic novel and a 'must read' for all SGA fans. It's heart stopping, action packed, you won't want to put it down. I can't wait for the next instalment. Please make it soon!!!!

This book was slow to get started, and didn't hold my interest as well as the pre legacy books did. I know this book is set some time after the official series finished but I can't help feeling that the team is tired and broken and to grown up and boring.Sheppard does a lot of feeling sorry for him self he's always been where the action is and I feel I missed it.

Firstly, Ignore the 1-star rating from someone who hasn't read it, just wanted to ask a question that would have been better placed on a forum, but contends that they can't wait for the next book. Honestly, this beggars belief!

Anyhow. This is an excellent continuation of the Legacy series - set post season 5 of SGA. The characterisations are, to me, pretty darn spot on. The action sequences are well written. The plot is continuing to thicken. If you want a straight action-only book, then this isn't for you. But if you want something that makes you think, connect the dots, and leaves you waiting eagerly for the next part, then this ticks the boxes. This story takes up directly where The Lost stopped. I love the Quicksilver storyline and how it's progressing (and you just knew that he'd be the one to ...oops, spoilers!). I like the return to Sateda, though I'm not so satisfied with the Genii storyline here (but assuming it's building to something more in book 4). I like the way the authors are trying to give equal airtime to the main players across the series, whilst concentrating on one or two in each book - pretty much the way it should be done in a story arc on the actual show.

I am now reconciled to the vague 'shipping going on between Sheppard and Teyla - reconciled to it happening at all (because this wasn't my preferred pairing to start with), but also to the vagueness of it, which was increasingly driving me to despair. My reaction to the shipping in the 2 previous books was along the lines of 'get off the fence and just acknowledge this already!!'. However, it's been pointed out that MGM have some pretty stringent rules on this sort of stuff and have never allowed non-canonical (ie not previously shown on the actual show) 'shipping. So basically, this is as acknowledged as it's likely to get. But this book does have a couple of scenes where it seems to be slightly more overt, and that's fine by me. For all those who loathe the idea of Sheppard and Teyla getting together - fear not! You still have to squint to get the 'shipping in focus, so you can continue to read the story in happy ignorance, and just concentrate on the excellent storyline that's humming along nicely.

I will agree with the 1-star rating on one point - I can't wait for the next installment (Avengers) to come out hopefully sometime around March 2012. From the snippets that have already been dangled online, it's going to be a corker :-)

Great third book in the Legacy series, If you enjoy Stargate Atlantis then you will enjoy this, Again great characters and love the way we get more insight into the Wraith. This imo is a must for fans of the TV series. Now just got to wait for book 4 to come out.

Enjoyable romp with the characters from SGA, as well as the much needed development for the Wraith the TV show lacked. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

Good job, Melissa and Amy - you done us fans proud. :)

I would definitely pick this up, or get it on your kindle or whatever the case maybe, but a few things first:

1 ) Start by watching the full series, this really picks up after series 5 of Atlantis finishes up.
2 ) Helps if you have seen SG1.
3 ) Start by reading the first book.
4 ) You are probably going to want to read the full series, that's all six books, just letting you know as each book ends in a cliffhanger of sorts and you will want to continue.
5 ) All six books are now available.
6 ) Sometimes the language is a wee bit off, but it shouldn't take away from your overall enjoyment of the series.

So with all of that in mind. Do enjoy.

The book gives more background to all the characters and you find out more about the wraith. The stories move smoothly into one another.
