Fit for Purpose
on 8 February 2014
OK, it's pulp fiction, but none the worse for that. You buy this little book to brush up your Italian and as such it does the trick. The story is mostly in dialogue, so it's full of the kind of words and expressions you might want in conversation. It's no good using the great Italian classics for this purpose (e.g. I promessi sposi). They contain far too many archaic and literary words, many of which you won't find in the electronic dictionary, and naturally the characters don't use today's everyday speech.
At 0.77p you can't expect to grumble and if you're looking for an easy-to-read text at Intermediate level this will serve you well.
