I know nothing about baseball, coming from the wrong side of the pond, but you know what, it didn't matter a bit. This book is very well written, with very believable characters, unusual story and so true to life on so many levels. I was impressed by the fact that the author did not go for pages and pages of graphic sex details. In a good book, I don't think that is a necessity. I learned something about reporting too, and that was a bonus! All in all, excellent. Can say more than that!

Knowing nothing about baseball I thought I would struggle with this story, however yet again Chris Paynter wrote a great love story around the game. Well worth a read and follow it with the sequel Two for the Show
