Should include explicit lyrics warning!!,
By
This review is from: Who You Are (Audio CD)
I bought this for my 10 year old daughter, she absolutely loves Jessie J, but I was shocked to find out that a couple of the songs use explicit lyrics, dont know why they have to be included expecially when she must know youngsters want to buy her songs!

Why use explicit lyrics???,
By

I know I'm going to sound like an old fogey but...I was going to buy this album for my 12yr old daughter. Jessie J was on Blue Peter - a children's show, performing Price Tag. "Look at me kids, buy my records, I'm really cool"I wish these pop acts would realise that a big chunk of their audience are 'teeny boppers'. There is no reason to include explicit versions of their songs, the songs became hits without the swearing (Cee Lo Green take note) and with such a large following of young children surely it is better to remove these lyrics altogether? Like it or not Jessie j, (Katy Perry on Sesame Street) etc etc should have a responsibility as role models to their younger fans. Either that or keep them off children's telly! Right, I'm off to buy her a JLS album...

Here we go again!!,

Original CD purchased. Nothing extra to review as album content well established and 'bonus tracks' primarily singles issued since original release. However, I 100% agree with the comments of another review regarding the blatant profitering of some record companies, aimed directly at the younger generation. I would like to think the artists are unhappy or not aware of this..... Perhaps they could make it a condition of their contract not to re-issue between albums? With regards to the lady in question the words to her song 'Price Tag' seem, somewhat, contradictory....'it's not about the money, money, money..we don't need your money, money, money...forget about the price tag!!!' Pixie Lott is another example(first album as second was with the option of 'deluxe edition'. Katy Perry has also joined the club with 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection'...there will be many others. As the previous reviewer suggests you could down load the 'extra tracks' but that is likely to be more expensive, although if you pick your moment and shop around, you may save a few pounds (Amazon CD of the Week for example). Providing you or the long suffering Mums and Dads have the will power to simply NOT BUY the initial release, then give it 6 months (or less) and the re-issue will be put out and then get that instead.

Listen to her acoustic covers...,

I love Jessie J and can't wait to see her on the 31st March! But I prefer her live/acoustic covers of these songs. I was desperate for the album to come out, now that it has, I sampled them on here and they are nowhere near her acoustic versions. She's amazing and I feel the recorded versions take away that spark she has live! I'll probably buy it when I have the money, but hope she brings out an acoustic album sometime to show off her real vocal ability!

FABULOUS and to the disappointed people,

This review is from: Who You Are (Deluxe Edition) (Audio CD)
This album is amazing, ot one of the tracks is a let down!!, reading down the reviews I see a few people saying how disappoint you are in Jessie J and the record Label to be honest if you're going to give a CD to you're child without checking what they are listening to before you buy it it is your own fault there are of plenty of places where you can preview tracks okay this may not be ideal but if you don't want you're child hearing 'Explicit' words then to be honest its worth doing !

There are some superb tracks on this album but there are also a lot of third rate fillers. I know there can be a lot of pressure on artists to come up with a lot of stuff against the clock to fulfill there record contract but there is some stuff on here that should just not have been put out.

Jessie J: Who You Are. (Deluxe Edition CD & DVD),
This review is from: Who You Are (Deluxe Edition) (Audio CD)
Bought this for my daughter, who is a big Jessie J fan. Ordered this from Amazon, received it within 3/4 days, well packaged, in perfect condition, cheaper than the shops. Final result? One very happy daughter! She is very happy with the extra songs, the videos for the singles, and 6 songs filmed @ London Shepherd's Bush Empire, intercut with interview of Jessie.A must for all Jessie J fans... even if you already own the cd... so my daughter says!

Mike Diver appears to be comparing Jessie J to montserrat caballe,
This review is from: Who You Are (Deluxe Edition) (Audio CD)
I've no idea who Mike Diver is, but clearly he's saying things that the Great British Public don't agree with. They say, 'no one EVER erected a statue for a critic' and in this case I think he's trying to compare Jessie's first album to Montserrat Caballe's current one. Doesn't he know that first albums are always gutsy and stylised, and produced with the flair that a very small budget will allow? He's obviously never heard Pink Floyd's first album.Jessie, is clearly extremely talented, and chose to showcase her possible range in the studio. Yes, it's gutsy, it's raw, it's certainly entertaining, built for the stage, but she has a style that is unique and incredible, and worthy of the praise she is getting. I wonder if Mike's critique will get any awards? Jessie is simply stunning and I hope she'll perform again, for the second album, and now with some production behind her, it will sound like a stunning studio album, I'm sure. And what's with this insistence with using her surname? No one remembers, Jones, Dwight, Bulsara, we know Bowie, Elton John, and Freddie. To use her surname when no-one knows it, nor uses it, including her, is simply churlish. Let's use Mike's nicknmae: Toad Go for it Jessie, I and about 10 million other people think this album is fantastic Steve Consalvez, The Firewalking Coach
