Firstly, This is not the complete 3D vision kit - just a pair of 3D vision 2 glasses. If you're looking for the set that comes with the IR emitter, check out the Nvidia 3D Vision 2 Wireless Glasses Kit for the one with these glasses, or the Nvidia 3D Vision Wireless Glasses Kit for Gaming for the older, cheaper model (that also comes with a copy of Duke Nukem Forever).

These are for you if you've already got the IR emitter or a laptop with one built in - these glasses will work with any set up that works with the standard / old 3D vision glasses.

As an upgrade form 3D vision these are spectacular. Every aspect - from packaging onwards - far surpasses the originals. I'm not going to go into too much detail about the box, I'll try to get a picture uploaded. It's a little shiny; and like all Nvidia products - Green.

In the box you get the glasses, some extra nose bridges to support a more comfortable fit, some instructions, a micro USB cable (for charging) and a cloth case.

I haven't changed the nose bridge - the one that it has on it when you get it is fine for me - but changing it is easy; just pull it off & put a different one on. This is more or less the same as the original 3D vision glasses.

A convenient difference between these and the originals is the fact it charges from Micro instead of Mini USB - I have more devices that use Micro now, a small change but I've always got one nearby.

The cloth case has a mesh pocket for the charging cable, and is made of microfibre. The original glasses come with a cloth bag and a cleaning cloth.

As for the glasses - they have straighter arms then then originals. Where the original 3D vision glasses curved in towards the end to hold themselves in place, these have small rubber pads and a far more gentle curve. This is the main reason I upgraded - these glasses are so much more comfortable! They can be worn with larger headphones without digging in, meaning I can watch a whole film in 3D with headphones on, whereas before I had to either take a break from the pinching, or rest the arms on top of my headphones & hope they didn't fall off or break.

They're a lot more chunky too - and made of matt black plastic, giving them a much more high-end feel compared to the glossy originals. The lenses are noticeably larger too, stopping more ambient light spilling in. They can also be used with Nvidia's 'light boost' technology - but as I don't have a set up that supports this I'm afraid I can't comment on it.

The metal logos on the sides are a nice touch too, and the power button is much more substantial & doesn't feel like it's gong to break.

The only thing that lets these glasses down is the cloth case - a hard case would have been much more fitting.

If you're looking for a second pair - these are a much better choice then the originals. They are more expensive - but worth every penny if you've had the same problem with them pinching after a while, or being unable to them with headphones.

The glasses are good quality and don't need to be charged very often, but if I'd do it all over again I wouldn't buy my 3D setup.

I realized I don't like games in 3D that much , there aren't too many 3D movies worth seeing (too many 3D fakes, 2D movies "converted" to 3D) and getting the Nvidia drivers to work properly and the playback software on a PC is a pain.

I have about 3 different players for 3D movies, problems with Windows 8 and Nvidia drivers etc etc

If I would do it all over again I wouldn't buy the 3D monitor and the 2 pairs of glasses, I would sell my existing TV and buy a TV capable of handling 3D.

Before upgrading to the current laptop, I used to have an Asus G73 with 3D that came with the old model Nvidia 3D glasses. They looked like cr*p after I actually made those wearable. The plastic used for them was the toughest mothertrucker I had ever laid hands on. It would literally chew your years in less time that it takes to initially install the 3d glasses. I had to put band aids and all sorts of gimmicks to make them wearable. They were dark and quite narrow as well. Now it's a different story. The new model is wider and actually made to be worn in comfort. They are a little wider when closed (compared to their little brother) but 100% more comfortable. They are brighter as well. Some new technology from Nvidia. The improvement could actually be the actual feedback from customers on the previous model. It looks like it. They look sexy, sit comfortable on the nose and ears and will easily bag 3 hours before you can actually realize that it's time for a break. Well worth the price tag. Crysis is a delight with these! And now that I have installed Far Cry 3 as well, Sayonara suckers, gotta go bury my eyes in the amazing Ubisoft Jungle!

I bought these new 3D vision 2 glasses to use with my 3 asus vg278he 3D vision 2 moniters and i have to say it looks incredible ! I used to have 3 asus vg236h 3D moniters but this 2nd generation 3D vision 2 with lightboost and these new glasses with the bigger more comfortable frames is 10x better, The 3D looks brighter and sharper, I have used 3D on consoles on expensive tv's but on a pc 3D is the ultimate exprience i highly recommend it, Most people dont know you can adjust exactly how much 3D effect you get on a pc it isnt just the depth you can change, When i play games like deadspace 3 my character is at least 12-15 inches outside the screen at all times you simply cant do that on a console, I highly recommend you try 3D on a pc. Check out my youtube channel to see my new ultimate 3D gaming setup, thechrisglasgow, Video will be uploaded by beggining of august 2013.

Bought these as an upgrade to NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 and before buying a compatible monitor, I tried these and noticed a good improvement over the 1st edition NVIDIA glasses in terms of extra brightness and larger viewing angle.

The best combination though is with a 3D Vision 2 monitor and it almost feels like you're viewing 3D without those downsides of a darker picture and noticeable cross talk. The way it was meant to be :)

The only downside I've noticed are the arms of the glasses...whereas the first edition had comfortable grippy slightly hook-style arms - these ones are just flat against your head and didn't seem too comfortable after an hour playtime. Think I've got used to them now but definitely preferred the style of the 1st edition.

Great glasses for 3D, although there is a possibility that the batteries are going to fail after some time. It is recommended to search for this problem on the internet and replace the batteries.

Just as expected. They work great and feel comfortable. Not so great with headphones on though as the arms dig into your head. Also a bit expensive for what they are.

When I bought it I imagined I would need to have it plugged in to watch 3d movies, Instead this has great batterly life, at least 6 hours of usage.
