Tough, gritty, attention grabbing from the start, keeps a good pace throughout, solid acting especially from Aimee Kelly, rising star ? Hope so.
Good bad guy, hated him, testament to his acting obviously.
I know nothing about girl gangs in London if its this bad I would never leave the house.
Film was 1 hour 20 mins long, just right, I don't like the fashion for padding to 1h 40 plus.

This oestrogen and adrenaline fuelled female-Shank UK film is a girl hoody gang drama.

Capturing female youth gang culture the film is low budget and aspiring to Noel Clarke films (Kidulthood, Shank, 4321 etc) but falls way short, being an awful ITV drama escapade.

Amid the niche market subject matter lies some credible acting. The film is character-rich, visual, menacing and real. It is slightly better than average independent film making titles UK style, being a small drama for the under 25's.

Skank = rough and ready, but ultimately 80% poor.

It genuinely makes me sad that UK cinema churns stuff out like this.

This is the only film i've seen that successfully parodies itself

Bad bad bad, this film will not go down as a classic. The audio mixing is rubbish. Can barely understand a word most of them are saying. The acting is borderline cringeworthy. The main girl can be excused shes young inexperienced and has a Newcastle accent. But the overall story has been done many times. It attempts to capture gang culture and violence. It does ok hence why I gave it 3 star. But the acting could have been better. There are not much suprises or twists. Its the usual main girls sister gets attacked, revenge revenge revenge and the rest is history.

UK is capable of so much better than this. There are many up and coming producers and script writers out there. Believe me they are capable of much much better. The UK indie scene has potential to be better than America's but we have a long way to go. Lets start by getting the script right first and mixing audio properly. Most of the music was garbage and some kids shouting over the mic. Loud music coupled with low voice audio.

I hope they sort this out in future releases. I respect peoples choice to make their kind of music. Or trying to support up and coming artists. But certain music in these films like Kidulthood are just plain terrible.

Come on UK, why are we leaving the scene to be donminated by Americans and now Scandinavian countries are churning out better stuff than us.

This movie is a time passer but nothing special. Just a bunch of renegade girls hyping up and getting rowdy....Please pipe down! No sexism intended.
