I recall listening to thois on vinyl as a child - amused by the various sketches and songs, amazed that all the different voices were from one person. This is Peter Sellers at his best, with a variety of material that parodies different styles - children's songs (Auntie Rotter), travelogues (Balham, Gateway to the South) and political speeches - what about the workers indeed ? We all love daddy, well wouldn't it be fun children to have two daddies ? So up on a chair behind the door with your axe, children, here's comes papa. This material will appeal to anyone who is a fan of the Goons or Monty Python type humour - satire with an off-beat edginess about it. Certainly over time such material can become dated, but Sellers generally touches on such universal elements of human behaviour to send up that even a re-listen again on CD still makes me laugh. A bargain at only three quid ! Muvver.
