4.0 out of 5 stars looking forward to volume 2, 30 Nov 2011
This review is from: The Wörld Is Ours - Vol 1 Everywhere Further Than Everyplace Else [DVD] [2011] (DVD)
I will keep it to the point. If you are a Motorhead fan then this is for you. IF not, then leave it alone.

What you get is one full concert from Motorhead in April this year and highlights from 2 gigs in 2010.

A wide range of material covered here from following albums -

Overkill, Spades, Bastards,World is yours,Kiss of Death,We are Motorhead,No Remorse,Motorizer,Iron Fist, Another perfect day and a few more thrown in.

Main feature is in Black and White but not a problem as the other 2 gigs are in full colour. Great interviews on the DVD and the Double CD Live album is the best since 1998's live release - I have been listening to it on repeat.

Excellent package ,excellent value....................only 4 stars because the sound on the bonus feature especially Manchester is bollocks pure and simple. The sound is slowed down and out of sync with the video. Not too clever.

Can't wait for volume 2 with 'One to sing the blues, Damage case, Whorehouse Blues, I'll be your sister, Born to lose etc.'

Lemmy may have had to cancel a show recently due to a "hand injury" - koff, koff, but that hasn't derailed the Motorhead machine for long. And here's a massive new offering for their rabid following. Naturally, this is out in multiple formats, but I've went for the DVD plus double CD digipak, so I can alternate viewing and listening, depending on where I'm sitting. Now I'm prepared for a verbal onslaught by email, but Motorhead aren't as good as they used to be. But Motorhead at about 60% is still a lot better than 99% of other bands.

This DVD / CD set features Motorhead's entire set from their Teatro Caupolican, Santiago, Chile concert, recorded on April 9, 2011, and includes lots of bonus footage and extras, including interviews and live footage from New York's Best Buy Theater and the Manchester Apollo. Now, I know that Lemmy is old, but I would have preferred some colour. Even though I can remember the days of black and white telly, I didn't for out for a big screen, just so Banger Films and Sam Dunn (Iron Maiden Flight 666, Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage) could go all arty farty on my ass.

The sound is a lot better than some recent Motorhead live offerings, thanks to a good mix by the band`s long-time producer Cameron Webb. Not a lot changes in Motorhead World, so bar a couple of new tracks from the "The Wörld Is Yours", it's business as usual, as they rattle through a familiar set list. The booklet is a bit rubbish, with the minimum of text, and some bog standard live pictures, but you don't really buy Motorhead live albums for something to read.

If you're one of these fools with a BluRay player, you'll get the DVD along with an (Electronic Press Kit from "The Wörld Is Yours" plus 2 video clips from the album, 'Get Back In Line' and 'I Know How To Die'. There's also a vinyl version with a double LP, 180 gram vinyl edition in a gatefold sleeve. Finally, if you've got more money than sense, there is a limited Motör-Bag edition which will include the DVD + double CD digipack, vinyl LPs of the Manchester and NY full concerts, a Motörhead Crew T-shirt, backstage pass and a mounted piece of "The Wörld Is Yours" backdrop, all wrapped up in a custom Motörhead carrying bag.

It's out in Europe now, but the colonials will have to wait until January 2012.

What a fantastic dvd, even though its in black and white, it dosent spoil it. And lemmys voice is the same as always, it suits this type of music perfect. And of course drummer is good, and Phillip Campbell on guitar is brilliant, the concert is fantastic. Would definitely recomend.

If you are a Motorhead fan then this is a no brainer! The main concert recorded in Santiago is in black and white which I personally liked! It adds a classic vibe to the concert and I had no problem with it. The gig itself is tremendous featuring all the classic Motorhead songs we love and some newer material like 'Get back in line' and the cheerful song 'I know how to die'. The crowd are absolutely amazing here and are full of energy moshing to the songs from the beginning untill the end! Lemmy and the band feed off this energy and give a great performance! There are also three songs from the New York concert and six from Manchester appollo from this tour that is a good addition to the set. (although the crowd look a bit flat in Manchester compared to the hyper Chilean crowd). The bonus features has interviews with all three members of the band and Discs 2 and 3 contains audio from the all of the live songs on the dvd. So grab some snacks and drinks, settle down for the evening, put the volume on high and rock out with your c**k out while the neighbours complain!
