This book is much better and more serious than the cover suggests. They should really change the cover, which looks rather sensationalist. That's the only reason I didn't give it five stars. The book itself is both thought-provoking and well-researched and explains how the accusation of 'Islamophobia' is being used to silence concerns expressed over the Islamisation of society in western countries. It explains the actual definition of 'Islamophobia' and you will be very surprised at how wide ranging that definition is.

All in all, a clear and concise assessment of how many people have been persuaded to self-censor when it comes to what they say and even what they allow themselves to think, and how this benefits the small number of Muslims who want to completely undermine and then replace western culture. It explains that using 'Islamohobia' to silence critics is not actually helpful to the vast majority of Muslims who want to live peacably in the western world. This is because, if all criticism is effectively silenced, these moderates will then themselves become the target of the Islamist extremists who regard them almost as collaborators.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, but deeply troubling, 28 Nov 2012

I read this book(let) cover to cover. Although it covers a lot of the intolerance to freedom of expression seen right across the western world, I was struck by how much of it was relevant to the UK at the present moment. Imams can give public addresses each Friday calling for the murder of Westerners, and nothing is done about it for years, but anyone who expresses concern about what is going on is instantly condemned as a bigot. Tomorrow sees the publication of the Leveson report into the future of British journalism, which is expected to call for state regulation of the press (presumably by supporters of multiculturalism). If such a report is enacted, goodbye freedom, it was nice knowing you.

Why only 4 stars? The formatting in the Kindle version was terrible. Was difficult to figure out what was the main text and what was a reference footnote.

This book is pretty scary - I wish it didn't ring true but it does. It's asking Westerners just exactly what we believe in and what would fight for. How seriously do we take Socrates? How seriously do we take Orwell?

No wonder British muslims forced the Home Office to ban Robert Spencer
from entering UK.
This book is an eye opener. Everyone in UK should read it at least three times,
very slowly, to find out that he/she has been lied to every single day for a very
long time. It's a wake up call but it may be too late.
Read it before your government rules ''it is not inducive to public safety'' and bans
it too which may be much sooner than you think.

If you want to know the dangers of Islam in the west, then this book is for you, although there will be nothing you can do to stop it from happening, at least you will be prepared. This book is full of info, a must read.

I wish Obama and that fool Cameron would read this. This booklet is not the rantings of a racist, it is an entirely sensible cry for those in power to recognise the terrible damage their pandering to the idea of religious offence.
Remember this: religion is nonsense after all so it is nonsense to suggest real hurt has been caused to a religious person through somebody merely drawing unflattering cartoons of their beloved prophet or making a film pointing out real issues of misogyny within a religion and that that hurt is so real and deeply felt that it is justification for brutal murder.

Islamophobia is an Orwellian term. It is design to silence legitimate critique of Islamic religion and the book exposes this uncomfortable truth to many western left wing intellectuals.

Quite what anybody is supposed to do about someone being fearful, I don't know! Islam is a fragile belief that is vulnerable to any rational discussion: hence believers want to prevent any discussion by altering democracy in a way that demonises rational thought, rather than demonising islam, They have succeeded, and this book lists the things democracies have given up: free speech in order to satisfy a tiny bunch of madmen that democracies are frightened of. The rulers in the time of the Crusaders knew only too well the evils of islam and attempted to wipe it out for the wrong reasons. Sadly it is back, (though not in as big numbers as you might think, more islamic escapees come to the west to than are joining it). The happy-clappy evangelicals are growing faster, but do not want special laws to protect their ignorance. It is amazing that after 400 years of enlightenment (something that never touched the islamic lot), the west bend over backwards to placate them. This book lists all the liberal trouser dropping and sucking-up. It makes nauseating reading. Amazon's sucking up will be that the will delete this review out of fear of islam:
