Summerslam, often i'm sure seen as what should be one of the best events of the year, this year it doesn't disappoint.
It starts of nicely with a six man tag as REY MYSTERIO teams up with JOHN MORRISON & KOFI KINGSTON to take on MIZ along with R-TRUTH & ALBERTO DEL RIO,this is certainly a great match to get things going with each wrestler getting a few highspots in,nothing to grumble about.
Then we have a newly popular SHEAMUS taking on the mighty MARK HENRY,a man on a mission to get noticed, and get noticed he does. This is a really good addition to the card,SHEAMUS proving his worth as HENRY shows why he is the world's strongest man,a really impresive finsih too,one to be remembered.
Up next is KELLY KELLY taking on the formidable BETH PHOENIX,with the diva's belt on the line. A fair match really for a diva's match, with KELLY holding her own and BETH displaying her strength and determination to subvert who she sees as inferior. If it wasn't for what i would call an unlikely ending, this would've pleased me a great deal.
Next we have DANIEL BRYAN vs WADE BARRET,a solid enough encounter with WADE'S girth being an obvious obstacle for DANIEL to overcome. This match certainly keeps the show running along nicely.
RANDY ORTON takes on CHRISTIAN next in a no hold's barred match for the heavyweight title. A really solid encounter with lots of action. A battle including tables being crashed through and bodies receiving a great deal of pain, lasts for a really decent time too, certainly a highlight of a great feud.
So the main event now and JOHN CENA needs to prove his worth against C.M. PUNK to decide who is the WWE champion. To make things more interesting,TRIPLE H has the job of special ref',so you know he won't take any crap.
This match may not quite live up to their previous match (some task!),but it does give plenty of enjoyment with more near falls and surprising moves to keep fans thrilled throughout and HHH keeps to his word of being a fair ref'. Then comes the end, well it got fans talking,a bit of controversy's no bad thing when it's done this well. And just when you think it's over...the twist! Some may well have seen it coming, but like it or not,it made an impact. An interesting ending to a top event, next year's SUMMERSLAM'S got some work to beat this one.
A really good event. It may not be as good as MONEY IN THE BANK 2011,but it's not far off!

Following on from the overall perfection of Money in the Bank, SummerSlam 2011 features yet another blistering match-up between John Cena and CM Punk with the Undisputed WWE Championship hanging in the balance, and Triple H as the special guest referee! Although not quite the unmissable spectacle that their classic was the previous month, Punk and Cena again tear the house down for thirty minutes with some of the best wrestling you'll ever see.

Everything else on the card ranges from very good to downright excellent. Match-of-the-night honours belong to Randy Orton and Christian who conclude their classic series with a violent, brutal and mind-blowing No Holds Barred match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Of all the magnificent in-ring showings these two have provided in 2011, THIS collision surpasses them all.

Like Money in the Bank, SummerSlam is an essential show, with its consistency being so high. A six-man tag team opener and Daniel Bryan vs. Wade Barret are truly excellent wrestling bouts, and even Sheamus vs. Mark Henry and the Divas' Title bout (featuring Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix defy expectations, turning out to be VERY GOOD bouts. Truly another WWE pay-per-view to own forever! For the SECOND-STRAIGHT-MONTH!

And it has to be said it does look really nice on blu-ray,so worth paying the extra, plus you get the bonus bits.

WWE Summerslam 2011 review:

The Miz, R Truth & Alberto Del Rio vs Kofi Kingston, John Morrison & Rey Mysterio: ****

A great six man tag opener, with six top talented WWE superstars.

Sheamus vs Mark Henry: ****

A great battle between the Worlds Strongest Man, and the Celtic Warrior. One of the key highlights of the match to watch out for is when Mark Henry slams Sheamus into a corner part of the fan barricade.

Kelly Kelly vs Beth Phoenix: **

A divas match for the WWE Divas Championship. which is okay but not great.

Daniel Bryan vs Wade Barrett: ****

A really good one on one match up between Barrett and Bryan. I was really quite impressed with how these co-ordinated the perfect pay-per-view matchup.

Randy Orton vs Christian: *****

A no holds barred match for the World Heavyweight Championship, with it stealing the show by two of the greats in Orton and Christian.

CM Punk vs John Cena w Triple H as special guest referee: ****

A main event for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Both CM Punk and John Cena had great chemistry at Money in the Bank in Chicago, and now in Los Angeles we get the same kind of treatment all throughout, along with some surprises towards the end.

SummerSlam has always been one of the biggest events for WWE. No matter how good or how poor, there's always been great moments from each year. For the third-straight-year, the Staples Centre in Los Angeles would be hosting the event, but
2011's offering had a big question to answer; could it follow on from the previous month's UNMISSABLE Money in the Bank?

After CM Punk triumphed over John Cena to win the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank, the Second City Saviour left the company with the title in his possession! Before Vince McMahon could act on his earlier promise to fire Cena for the loss, Triple H was declared by the board of directors as the new C.O.O., ousting Vince from power! The WWE title was vacated and Rey Mysterio won a tournament to capture the strap.

However, Rey lost the title the very same night when he agreed to defend it against Cena. But before the Champ could celebrate his return back to the top, the newly re-signed CM Punk returned with the same WWE Championship belt he'd walked out with! Triple H declared BOTH Punk and Cena rightful champs, and that they would meet one more time to determine the UNDISPUTED WWE Champion.

It was brilliant continuation of the best storyline in years! And like Money in the Bank, this year's SummerSlam lives up to the hype, boasting yet another must-see main-event clash between John Cena and CM Punk, and the rest of the card ranging from good-to-excellent.

Six Man Tag Team Match
Rey Mysterio, John Morrison & Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz, R-Truth & Alberto Del Rio
A fine six man tag to kick things off, featuring a great array of stars. Fast and frenetic action which sets the tone for the evening quite nicely. Not that memorable, but still tremendous fun. (8/10)

Sheamus vs. Mark Henry
Like the previous month at Money in the Bank, Mark Henry turns in a surprisingly good performance here. In fact, I'm impressed! After faltering for so many years, the World's Strongest Man continued to gain more and more momentum, as a monstrous behemoth that now actually seemed ready for a World Title reign. The ever-fierce Sheamus continues to impress, duking it out in a hard-hitting battle with a finish that is shocking, impressive and evocative. (7/10)

Divas Championship Match
Kelly Kelly (Champion w/Eve Torres) vs. Beth Phoenix (w/Natalya)
A Divas title match that runs longer than four minutes? It's true, allowing a good enough story to be told. Beth (a reliable and excellent women's worker) again wrestles a fine ladies match (which we desperately need more of in WWE!). Kelly deserves a lot of credit too, working hard and giving perhaps her best in-ring performance thus far. Some sloppiness here and there, but this is still rather good, with a real surprise finish. (6/10)

Daniel Bryan vs. Wade Barrett
I enjoyed this bout. I enjoyed it A LOT, and I would really recommend that fans check it out. Bryan and Barrett wrestle a QUALITY encounter, featuring styles that you don't normally see in WWE. Daniel just continues to steamroll towards greatness and it's perhaps Barrett's finest outing since his feud with John Cena. An outstanding technical display between two rising stars. The only thing that you'll have trouble with is Michael Cole's GRATING, NEVER-ENDING comments towards Bryan! GEEZ! (9/10)

No-Holds-Barred World Heavyweight Championship Match
Christian (Champion) vs. Randy Orton
And so the all-round excellent series for SmackDown's World title draws to a close in this match-of-the-year calibre display. A surprise return and the promo before the bell is awesome, and then Christian and Orton proceed to tear the house down one-more-time. Brutal use of weapons, sickening spots coupled with even more outstanding wrestling/chemistry make this arguably the best NO-DQ outing since WWE turned PG! Awesome match with an awesome finish. Match of the night. (9/10)

Undisputed WWE Championship Match
John Cena ("Champion") vs. CM Punk ("Champion")
Special Guest Referee: Triple H
Duplicating (or even surpassing!) the classic at Money in the Bank would be next-to-impossible. But instead of trying to replicate their perfect match the previous month, Cena and Punk put on a different battle instead, with different moves and storytelling. The result is another huge success, with the WWE Champions putting on yet another half-hour of blistering action. A step down from their MITB bout, but don't let that deter you. The Los Angeles crowd really come alive, eating up everything Cena and Punk do in this thrilling, titanic tussle. Triple H's officiating, the outcome, the shocking aftermath (featuring ANOTHER legendary return!), and the next-twist in the CM Punk saga will continue to leave you speechless! (9/10)

Again, I must complain over the criminal lack of extras. Only one Home Video Exclusive Interview...and that's it. No highlights of the WWE Championship Tournament, no additional matches, interviews or segments from Raw building up to SummerSlam; NOTHING. Are WWE Home Video and Silver Vision ever gonna put more effort into their PPV DVD releases (outside of WrestleMania)?

But like Money in the Bank 2011, WWE SummerSlam 2011 is an unmissable show, that's packed with classic matches/storylines, some great surprises, shocking returns, a strong undercard and an ending that will (again!) leave you reeling. Don't just purchase this; buy it with Money in the Bank (if you haven't already bought that!). You're in for the best wrestling in years!

After one of their best pay per views in Money in the Bank 2011, WWE delivered once again with their 2011 edition of SummerSlam. While the WWE Championship match with John Cena vs CM Punk isn't as good as their Money in the Bank match (or even their Night of Champions 2012 and Raw February 25th 2013 matches) it is still a very good match, though the aftermath was questionable especially when WWE never properly followed it up.

Randy Orton and Christian however have probably their best match in their series for the World Heavyweight Championship, while Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett have a very underrated match. The Divas Championship match between Beth Phoenix and Kelly Kelly was better than expected and the opening 6 Man Tag Team Match was a great way to start the show.

To conclude, this is one of WWE's better SummerSlam in recent years along with 2008 and 2013.

A Great show one of the best Summerslam 2011 by far betta than Summerslam 2010 which was poor.

Im So glad they released this on Blu-ray as America don't get this and Summerslam 2011 blu-ray is a UK/Europe Exclusive.
The Picture Quality is fantastic 1080i and the HD Image adds so much more to the event and makes the event that more enjoyable, with wwe blu ray the image is so clear it actually feels like your there live in person amazing.

The Event was certainly a great follow up to the PPV of the Year in 2011 without a doubt Money in the Bank 2011 and the main event was again contested for the WWE Undisputed Championship between CM Punk (C) vs John Cena (C) but this time around there was a special guest referee to control matters in the COO at the time
Triple H.

It was a Fantastic Match the Crowd was electric, both Punk and Cena were Champions going in to this event and only 1 champion would leave the event.
The ending to the match at the time was pretty shocking as a certain Legend came in the name of Kevin Nash who powerbombed CM Punk after the Match and Alberto Del Rio cashed in his MITB Briefcase to become the WWE Champion for the first time.

Christian vs Randy Orton in a No Holds Barred Match for the World Heavyweight Championship was fantastic, Great end to their Summer Fued, Match had about everything and certainly was brutal since WWE are PG Rated and was something that the WWE Fans hadn't seen before so it was nice for a change.
Edge made a appearance before the match to the shock of christian as he turned on his best friend and left him hanging haha.

Daniel Bryan vs Wade Barrett was another Fantastic Match that kept the show flowing nicely, Bryan is great Wrestler he reminds me of Chris benoit in the fact he can have a great match with anyone and make it look good, this match had some great wrestling and with barrett winning was pretty suprising as many of the fans thought Bryan would go over as he was the holder of the Smackdown MITB Briefcase and still is to this day.

Kelly Kelly vs Beth Phoenix for the WWE Divas Championsip, Divas Match of the year without a doubt and was quite surprising as many thought this match would be boring and typical but it was certainly far from that and the divas performed really well here espically the hot and sexy Kelly Kelly.

Sheamus vs Mark Henry was good not bad but not great either, i really like the direction that Henry went after this event becoming the World Heavyweight Champion at Night of Champions 2011 and becoming the dominate heel monster champion, anways the only real talking point in this match came at the end when henry speared sheamus through the barricade and won via count out.

Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston and John Morrison vs The Miz, R Truth and Alberto Del Rio was a good opener in the fact it made all guys look good and be at the event as none were booked originally to feature on the show. Got the crowd going and the baby faces won which was crowd pleaser.

Fantastic show i give it a 9/10 and 10/10 for the blu ray edition as you get some fantastic exclusive extras be sure to check them out and another reason to the get the blu ray edition over the DVD edition, its priced at the same price at £10.99 fantastic price.

Nice thanks for reading my review been doing lot of reviews lately for amazon.co.uk and hopefully more to come.

Adios <3

Now this is more liken it! Great matches, controversy and lots of top moments to make it probably the best event of the year. C M Punk really proved that he's not a one hit wonder after Money in the Bank and gave Cena a top match. Sheamus and Mark Henry was a brutal affair and overall worth buying for any WWE fan's collection. Even though its all PG, I can forgive it if the matches contain good wrestling which they did.
