This review is from: Dark Side (Pax Britannia) (Kindle Edition)
The Pax Britannia series gets kicked up a notch as Ulysses Quicksilver rockets into space and, as usual, straight into adventure. The change of locale really helps to reenergise the series, and the trip to space is the least of the surprises on offer here.

Quicksilver is on the trail of his wayward brother, although once he follows his sibling to the moon, he also has to deal with sinister tycoons, murderous assassins, killer robots, the inhabitants of Luna's interior and the feelings of his ex-fiancee.

The latter, Emilia, was first introduced in one of the backup stories that accompany the PB novels, and her presence is only one of the repurcussions of that earlier story. Don't worry if you missed it, though; the climax of the short story is represented at the start of this book.

As ever with a Green book, the action is non-stop, whether Ulysses and Nimrod are surviving a meteor shower or running from a giant space slug. The new characters are well drawn as well, including the abrasive assassin couple Chapter and Verse, and the cute-as-a-button mech driver Billie.

A slight warning; this installment ends on one hell of a cliffhanger, so be prepared to dive straight into the next in the series, Anno Frankenstein.

...did I mention that Dark Side introduces time travel to the Pax Britannia universe?

Also, don't neglect the backup tale, Prometheus Unbound, which both advances the metaplot slightly, and catches up with a couple of characters from Leviathan Rising.
