This three CD collection is the only way to hear all the American A and B sides, plus some unexpected bonus tracks, alternate versions, and a radio interview with the ladies. The music is prime Tamla Motown, although you'll need to play over half of the first disc before encountering any of the Supremes' hits. As a fascinating aural history of the development of the Motown Sound and the increasingly complex and inventive works of writers and producers Eddie Holland Lamont Dozier and Brian Holland, this set takes some beating.

The remastering is superb. The sixty pages long book which comes with this hardcover set tells the detailed story track by track. Much of this detail comes from The Complete Motown Singles boxed sets, with information up-dated and corrected where possible. The booklet includes some rare photographs, mainly of single picture sleeves from around the world.

It really is a deluxe edition and reminds us how great Diana Ross & The Supremes were. It beats any other greatest hits package, because it is complete and of a very high quality.

See the accompanying set by The Temptations, too.

The Spice Girls, TLC, Destiny's Child and En Vogue come and go. And even making a splash selling the kind of units that just was not possible during the 60s, if only because the earth's population has nearly tripled. But the group with the most #1 singles, 3 #1 albums, a truckload of gold & platinum albums.....Grammy nominated television specials, starring role in the groundbreaking "T.A.M.I. Show" feature film, and its clear that we cannot judge the #1 group by just units sold.....other factors, including many "firsts" have to included along with the 50 million albums they have indeed sold.
But this comprehensive focuses on the great music. They created the album, "Where Did Our Love Go" that is credited to introducing "the Motown Sound" to the masses. The 12-14/#1 singles are included like personal favorites "Where Did our Love Go", "Come See About Me", "Stop! In the Name of Love", "I Hear a Symphony", "Love is Here(Now You're Gone)", "In and Out of Love", "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me", etc. along with favorite B-sides and favorite album cuts. On par with, "The Supremes" boxset.....this is another great compilation by the Motown/Universal catalog team.

I got this set and it is awesome, I never expected it to be in a big book style package, it is just so beautiful.
I strongly recommend it.
By the way why do some fans leave Barbara Martin out, she was an original Supreme which means there was 9 Supremes and not 8 like some fans keep saying, it really annoys me, as it is being disrespectful to Barbara, I always include Barbara in my Supremes projects as she was actually in the Primettes and was still with the girls when they changed their name to the Supremes, so come on guys please do not leave miss Martin out of this legacy, I know she was only on the groups first album "Meet the Supremes" but she is and always will be a Supremes, lets not not forget that!

PS:
Barbara is also on some of the early tracks in this set too, she does the middle talking bridge on "He's Seventeen", love her on that track, especially when she says "Aww, come on", love it!

Why do they mix it back to Mono when there exist excellent digital remastered Stereo-Mixes ? (For example "The Supremes/ Gold" and "Diana Ross&The Supremes/ Anthology" >>Version from 2001.
We have two ears to hear stereophonic as everywhere in nature.
And even this Mono-mixes-quality is only average. No highlight !
The argumentation "only Mono is authentic with 60`s-music" is only correct if you still listen to Mono-equipment and are not interested in possible better sound.
Only the informative book/booklet was made very good.
