THE GREATEST SINGLES COLLECTION AVAILABLE
on 23 November 2011
This three CD collection is the only way to hear all the American A and B sides, plus some unexpected bonus tracks, alternate versions, and a radio interview with the ladies. The music is prime Tamla Motown, although you'll need to play over half of the first disc before encountering any of the Supremes' hits. As a fascinating aural history of the development of the Motown Sound and the increasingly complex and inventive works of writers and producers Eddie Holland Lamont Dozier and Brian Holland, this set takes some beating.
The remastering is superb. The sixty pages long book which comes with this hardcover set tells the detailed story track by track. Much of this detail comes from The Complete Motown Singles boxed sets, with information up-dated and corrected where possible. The booklet includes some rare photographs, mainly of single picture sleeves from around the world.
It really is a deluxe edition and reminds us how great Diana Ross & The Supremes were. It beats any other greatest hits package, because it is complete and of a very high quality.
See the accompanying set by The Temptations, too.
