2.0 out of 5 stars a few issues...
i only bought this game a couple of days a go but these so far are the issues I am having with it:

*incredibly long load times...
*a terrible 'tap out system' that takes away from the feeling of the game and turns into some sort of arcade-y thing...
*no 'open mode' for setting up fights!!! if you're a heavy weight you have to fight a heavy weight...

UFC Undisputed 3 is an absolutely great game. It may very well be the best fighting game on the market. It takes the best qualities from the first 2 games and combines them for the ultimate fighting experience. The accessibility of the first game is back as well as the great sound design. The controls from the 2nd game which some considered too complex have been simplified with a simple directional push on the sticks rather than a rotation. The original controls from the 2nd game can also be used for hardcore gamers. Production values are the best we have seen from the franchise by far even superior to EA's MMA title. The experience is viceral and realistic and many of the bugs and glitches which were present in the last game have been fixed or refined such as the ability to continue to pound your opponent after you have rocked them. This is the Ultimate fighting game undisputedly. Worthy to carry the name and great for any fan of fighting games. A must have game

4.0 out of 5 stars Easier to pick up and more fun with PRIDE mode, 21 May 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: UFC: Undisputed 3 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
UFC Undisputed 3 is the latest release by the leading MMA franchise. The already popular series has seen a few changes and additions this year to compete with other releases in the fighting genre, resulting in a more fun, more accessible game all-round.

Many newcomers found it difficult in the past to master the tricky transition moves, and found themselves being dominated on the ground by more experienced fighters. UFC have addressed that for this release, giving gamers the option to switch transition controls to an easy flick of the analogue stick. That, combined with an in-depth tutorial mode, makes for a much simpler learning curve.

Now to the fun part... This year, you can compete in PRIDE, the unforgiving Japanese franchise that was bought out by the UFC owners some time ago, which has since evaporated to form DREAM, due to allegation of Yakuza involvement. Pride matches can be a lot of fun, as you can soccer kick your opponent to the ground, then punish him with powerful head stomps to keep him there.

All-in-all, UFC Undisputed 3 is vast improvement on an already popular game. It's easier to get the hang of, but can still prove challenging to newbies online, and the inclusion of PRIDE mode is a welcome change. It will prove hard to put down in single player career mode, and easy to pick up when you have friends 'round.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ultimate fighting Championship is Ultimate Fighting Game, 23 Mar. 2012

This review is from: UFC: Undisputed 3 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
this is the best so far; it is so good I don't know how they can improve next year's.

good:
Graphics are so much better
Pride is great you can even do soccer kicks
career is so much better with WFA titles and you can move up to UFC whenever you want to so you could stay with them all career
submission is so much easier (it works by if your doing a submission you need to chase them around and stay on there bar until they tap but if your opponent is doing a submission then you have to stay away)
there is a shop now so you can buy fighter's, clothes, nickname's entrances and taunts
there is now entrances and they even put the Vaseline on them but you can skip them
more fighters and two new weights with more referee
in career you can watch the fights (if you don't mind watch them because you get 200 points for watching it which get's you fighters

floors:
they need more characters to unlock
only one pride ring and referee unless they only had that in real life
too easy on career put it on harder so it is more fun

even though it is the best game of all time have not seen any glitches and I certainly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for what it is., 12 Nov. 2012
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: UFC: Undisputed 3 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
I will keep this review brief and to the point but will hopefully cover everything you want to know before buying this game.
The Good:
The graphics and authenticity of the fighters, arenas, referees, commentators and brands make this a great game to look at. The controls for the most part are simple enough and are easy to pick up after a few tutorials. The fights can be very tense (especially against friends) and a good knock-out feels very rewarding. These can also be saved and replayed to show friends and you can even make your own clip of knock-outs. Through career, You can create a fighter or choose one from the roster, teach them moves and train attributes to suit your fighting style. You can then take the finished product online. Some may call it a bad point but the principle of quality over quantity when it comes to landed hits means the outcome of fights in close matches is truly unpredictable.
The bad:
Career is a typical career on a fighting-sport game such as Fight Night, Rocky etc. Start at the bottom and work your way up the ranks through the two training sessions then a fight system. It can become boring and repetitive but if you are training to take your fighter online, that will probably give you motivation to finish it. The new submission structure makes it very hard to win by submission but does make it more fair. Also the fighting can become fairly repetitive and seems too structured. As Fifa has tried to introduce the unpredictability factor to recent games (which has been done quite badly) the principle of it would be great in this if done right. For example, there are about 10 different animations in Fifa for a player to turn the ball around and shoot. This makes the game flow better and more realistic to watch. If the idea of this was introduced and executed well, it would have my 5 stars.
In conclusion, If you enjoy the UFC or like a good game to play with friends to get you on the edge of your seat, this is it. There is almost no better feeling than your friend boasting how he's going to beat you then you shut him up with a spinning back-fist to the face.

2.0 out of 5 stars a few issues..., 26 Aug. 2012

i only bought this game a couple of days a go but these so far are the issues I am having with it:

*incredibly long load times...
*a terrible 'tap out system' that takes away from the feeling of the game and turns into some sort of arcade-y thing...
*no 'open mode' for setting up fights!!! if you're a heavy weight you have to fight a heavy weight... now i know the rules have changed but i remember when the UFC was a free for all where skill was the ultimate decider. in terms of the the game play itself, if you have mates over and they want to create their own fighter then you're stuck unless all your friends are the same weight...
*constantly connecting to the server - even if you're playing an exhibition match. why?! it slows it up!
*the usual complaint; whether you have a kickboxer or a judoka you're not getting much difference in how they fight. that could be a comment on todays fighters but hey ho, a little more 'signature' moves for particular styles wouldn't go a miss...

good features? well, i am enjoying it at the mo and i have yet to try out the various modes. the custom fighter section is pretty good. i am worried that the replay value is going to drop very quickly....

4.0 out of 5 stars big hitter?, 23 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: UFC: Undisputed 3 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
As a game UFC3 is pretty good. The series has come a long way since the first game with improved graphics, animations and gameplay.Your fighter is more customisable and you can spar and train to improve your fighter. This game mechanic is very similar to the fight night boxing games and works well.As with games of this ilk longevity is a problem.Sustained play will render the career mode complete in less than a week,BUT,thats not the point.Multiplayer is where these games get their longevity as with all fighting games. The game was delivered promptly, postage was cheap and the game was well priced. All in all a good purchase.

Looks great on the demo and the game itself is fun to an extent, either the AI is too hard or too easy, the create a fighter mode is great and the career mode is solid, though the training is a bit hit and miss. the grappling in the game could really use some work its all a bit like a game of thumb wars with a control pad. graphically it is nice and looks pretty realistic though could use some work on the deformations for the injuries. overall a good game if you enjoy some nearly no holds barred fighting

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: UFC: Undisputed 3 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
I bought this game because I thought it could help me choose a fighting style I would like to learn, so far it hasn't.

However, I AM somewhat a UFC fan and each game gets better than the previous. But I do believe they have LOTS of stepping up to do with the gameplay, graphics etc if they want it to be as good as Fight Night.

Overall, the game is good, but I'm not entirely sure I'd recommend it

This review is from: UFC: Undisputed 3 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
This game is enjoyable but doesn't really have a long playing life in my opinion, then again I'm not a heavy gamer. My personal opinion on this game though is that you can play it for an hour, maybe two and then it loses all it's allure and sits waiting for months before you want to pick it up again.
