My time with this game was like a meal at a restaurant which you enjoy beyond all reasonable expectation, only to find it's given you a crippling bout of food poisoning the next day, forcing you to reside on the toilet, wailing and gnashing your teeth.
I dived straight into career mode, making my own player, and getting set to dominate the world. My cunning plan seemed to be on track, as in years 1 and 2 of career mode I was beating the worlds best like they were ginger step-children. Nadal, Murray, Federer - buried! Sampras, McEnroe, Cash - slaughtered!
Then year 3 began.
I found myself being repeatedly humiliated with ease by players I'd never heard of who resembled vagrant Kazakh gigolos. In fact, I think one of them actually WAS Borat. Perturbed, I persisted. Nope, seems once you're ranked 20th in the world, EVERYONE can beat you with ease. Not so much a difficulty curve as a difficulty spike, and it felt like EA were ramming it where it didn't belong.
So in a word: Nonsense.
And Djokovic never getting beyond the last 16 of ANY tournament? Get over it EA, a SERB is world number one!
