This review is from: Little Malcolm and His Struggle Against the Eunuchs (BFI Flipside) (DVD + Blu-ray) (Blu-ray)
This is an eccentric little film but well worth watching for the acting alone. It's a showcase for the acting skills of the whole cast and David Warner in particular is fantastic. Doesn't quite know if its a comedy or a tragedy but maybe that's the idea. Definitely worth a watch as an unseen classic.

i was quite sure that i'd have to wait quite a long time to ever see this film again ........... how happy am i now ?

the high definition transfer has come from the original 35mm negative!! supplied by george harrison's estate.

directed by stuart cooper

it was photographed by john alcott

and edited by ray lovejoy !

the performances are brilliant all around ......

based on david halliwell's play.

included, is a substantial booklet, extra features include the original trailer and two short films !

i can also confirm that the bluray plays fine here in canada (region A)

much thanks to BFI flipside for this release. especially to include region A !!

Malcolm has a huge ego but is impotent in more ways than one and yet he calls everybody else who he sees as conformist, eunuchs, indeed he is a little man with a chip on his shoulder, If you can take the premise that articulate people can also be daft, plenty of politicians have the gift of the gab let's face it, I was expecting more to be honest, but I am always expecting more and when I do get more i feel empty, the david warner character is an hilarious geek, though they didn't have as many labels for people as they do now, we are more dismissive of people rightly or wrongly, the acting is perhaps too good, and it's funny how Hurt and co are as good then as they are now no improvement. the author intrigues me, because he hasn't had any real success and uses provocative titles like janitress thrilled by prehensile penis, google it and you'll get virtually nothing. The extra little films on the dvd, who needs this in high definition bluray? aren't all that.
