I like Lee Evans as a comedian and thought this book would be about his success as a star, how wrong was I.

The book is his life story, every embarassing story and sometimes cringe worthy stories are told in all there glory there is no detail left spared!

It was a refreshing read and is more about Lee as a person before his rise to fame. He makes you believe that anything is possible. You go from unbelievable highs to depressing lows and feel like you are seeing life through a different perspective.

If you are wanting to read jokes, this is not the book for you. This is a life story that will at time have you near to tears or wanting to hit him for his stupidness.

Lee Evans is a humble man - he thanks his audience for coming to see him and putting him where he is today. He has time for his many fans which is actually rare today. After reading his book written in his own words I just love him even more. Its an account of his childhood, teens and ends with his first appearance on the stage. It covers his wonderful early relationship with his wife and their struggles, joys and sadness. I truly feel I know him and he really is a very special man. It makes you laugh out loud (I did on a packed morning commuter train into London Liverpool Street) and it makes you cry. I feel that there is at least one more book to come - PLEASE LEE COULD YOU MAKE TIME?

I'm a big fan of Lee Evans, and this book was a good read - Heartwarming at times, at others funny, at others desperately sad.

What bothered me though was that it didn't cover any of Lee's professional life, only up to his first talent contest. Surely I can't be the only person who would like to know about his rise to fame?

I know its the current vogue to bring out several autobigraphies, thus maximising profit; but I didn't think that Lee Evans as such a down-to-earth man of the people would allow himself to be talked into fleecing his adoring fans in this way.
