At last a UK release for the two million selling albums from the 70's. Japan have released both years ago, the USA released the same double a few years back too. But for the first time in over 35 years the UK market now has these two great albums.
The remastering is excellent, there is a slight fault on a couple of tracks but that is the master tapes held in the UK, they are not the original recording masters but just copies sent from the States over 40 years ago, the same faults appeared on the USA Collectibles CD's, but were not on the USA box-set because I was involved in that set and we used the original recording masters from the vaults. These couple of tracks are not really a problem though and the whole CD sounds superb.
What is the problem is the dreadful sleeve note that is included. Written by someone who does not know the Como catalogue and has just researched information - the last quote the writer gives is from Wikapedia - any one who is professional would never quote from such a dubious source. He also refers to tracks he has never heard and makes incorrect assumptions about them. In fact you get the impression he hasn't even bothered to listen to the album he is reviewing. The worst sleeve note ever written for a Como CD.
Don't let the poor essay distract you from buying the product though, a great couple of albums from the Como catalogue.

Another great item from Amazon delivered on time at a super price. I've got 'And I love you so'on vynil and the opportunity
to obtain an enhanced CD, teamed with 'It's Impossible', seemed to good to miss. I'm delighted to be able listen to an
old favourite like Perry Como which has evoked a flood of nostalgia. Whole-heartedly recommended!

I had one of the albums "And I Love You So" when it was first released back in '73. I always liked it but gave all my vinyls away when leaving UK back in December '94. Was a great opportunity when I saw it was available, together with the "It's Impossible" album as I have remained a fan of Perry Como's. I was so pleased to receive them and to find the recordings are of such high quality.
