not quite what i was expecting
on 8 November 2012
i purchased this with the idea that, a keyboard/mouse combo i keep to myself floating between offices, and scared of losing the receiver it came with to begin wit, that i'd buy another one to leave at the office, and have the original sat on my computer at home.
however, my efforts were in vain, as logitech's unifying system only allows the device to be paired to one receiver at a time. pairing it to one receiver removes the pairing from the other. the idea would work if i was prepared to re-pair the devices each time i floated between offices, but that comes with the slight caveat that a keyboard is needed to run the unifying/pairing software, thus negating it completely.
the unifying mechanism itself is great. pair as many devices as you want to one receiver. though you CANNOT pair one device to multiple receivers.
waste of 11 quid, but hey ho.
