TOP 1000 REVIEWERon 2 November 2011
I've always been a big fan of Lindsay Buckingham, from his days with John Stewart and of course Stevie Nicks. He is still a member of supergroup Fleetwwd Mac.He's also produced some very fine solo albums including this years most under rated one in 'Seeds We Sow', a collection of new songs played and swung by him. Live we get a chance to see him in the UK at the end of this year, and if it's half as good as this set rrom earlier this year then we are in for a treat. For this show in LA we get live versions of songs from the new albums plus ones from Fleetwood Mac's back catalogue, most of which Lindsay wrote anyway. Two plus hours beginning with five acoustic solo songs by a guitarist of immense talent, then his three piece band joins him, then he signs the show with a solo version of the title song from the new album.I should think this is very much the show we get on the current tour. The hugely original produced Fleetwood smash hit 'Tusk' gets a simpler styling with LB beginning on solo guitar before the band comes in,and it works and sounds so fresh in this version,no marching bands or anything but four great musicians taking it along. Also from Mac's back catalogue we get'Never Going Back Again', 'Big Love','Second Hand News' and 'Go Your Own Way' all sounding as good as they ever did. Add to these songs from his own solo releases as well, plus a bonus CD containing most of the performances on the DVD,not all because of the shows length. We also get a very interesting interview with him about his career, his influences, those he's created music with through the years, very interesting it is too! The DVD is filmed in HD so looks superb, the sound is crystal clear. If you've not listened to Lindsay's solo work this a fabulous rlace to start. If your a fan this is as good as it gets.A quality and highly enjoyable release by one of the finest singer/songwriter/musicians there are. Get a copy or put it on that Christmas list, one of the best music DVD releases of 2011 as far as IU am concerned.

An excellent concert by a performer still at the top of his game. Included here are some tracks that I've never heard Lindsey do live. There's also a CD included in the pack, of the same material. It's a shame he had to cancel the UK leg of his tour this year.
In the meantime, enjoy this!

The most underrated guitarist, and undervalued artist in the music business. It's unfortunate that few people in the UK are aware of his solo work, and associate him only with Fleetwood Mac. In fact, I've been shocked over the years at the number of people who think Lindsey Buckingham is Stevie Nicks, and vice versa!

I have every CD and DVD available of his solo work, and he always includes Mac classics in his shows, but he really is a gifted artist, and in my opinion, the best guitarist in the world.

Something many people don't realise is, that most of the recent material from Fleetwood Mac, since they reformed in '97, has been Lindsey Buckingham's solo projects, folded into the latest Mac album and tour. Most of the new songs when they reformed in '97 were his solo work, but became Mac songs for the reunion.

As much as many still mourn the loss of Peter Green, and the blues band which Fleetwood Mac were, they would have faded away completely had it not been for the Buckingham/Nicks contribution. The band were making no money for their record company after 10 albums, and of course were going through band members like no other band in history. Buckingham and Nicks, and the Anglo-American synthesis made the FM the massive success that they became.

Highly recommend more people outside of the States discover Lindsey Buckingham's solo career.

Lyndsey Buckingham is a genius. His lyrics, his music, his passion, and performances. This recording demonstrates all of these attributes but in a very 'club' like cosy atmosphere so that it feels like you're sharing intimate personal space with Lyndsey rather than a blockbuster concert if it were a Fleetwood Mac event. And that's why Lyndsey himself describes it as the 'small machine' as opposed to the FM 'big machine'.
Absolutely brilliant.

Lindsey Buckingham proves what a superb song writer/performer he really is on this excellent 2 hour plus DVD. I don't think any LB fan will be disappointed with this, or even any Fleetwood Mac fan for that matter.

Lindesy Buckingham's solo efforts have never shifted in the same way as his Mac records, hopefully this dvd will open the door to his excellent solo repertoire. Picking songs from his Mac career and solo stuff you realise that he is a much ignored talent, not only for song writing but also his stunning guitar work. 2011 has been poor for music dvds but this is the best by a mile. In addition to the music there's is an excellent interview and the audio settings include stunning DTS surround sound.

About thirty years after the rest of the world, I`ve realised how awesome how Lindsey Buckingham is. The title is explained by Lindsey; the big machine is Fleetwood Mac, the commercial success, big soundtracks, the large projects...this is the other side, the independent movies, the personal, riskier projects. I`m very fond of his most recent solo record, The Seeds We Sow, a few songs from which are featured here, but there are also enough treats for the longstanding admirer - older solo tracks along with great new takes of Mac classics (Tusk, I`m So Afraid, Second Hand News...). His voice sounds excellent here and his guitar work is breathtaking - truly breath-taking. A brilliant bonus with this DVD is an accompanying CD version of the show (minus three songs), so ultimately this is a very satisfying purchase.

Very good bluray and great music allround. I was very happy having bought this bluray just seeing and listening "Im so afraid" alone.

A different look at Lindsey Buckingham as a artist as always used to him being with Fleetwood Mac. A very well produced blu ray.
