Bought as a xmas present for my niece and nephew but had to check to see if it played 1st lol

I loved it, the animation was superb, the story was cute and warm and endearing and pulled at the heartstrings a way a Xmas movie should.

If your unsure of the plot here is a brief synopsis:

Nicko is a young reindeer who longs to fly just like his dad who is in The Flying Forces for Santa. However, his dreams continue to lead him into problem after problem. After he brings danger upon his whole herd, Nicko sneaks away to find out the unanswered questions about his father and to pursue his dream. Accompanied by a tough, flying squirrel named Julius and musical weasel named Wilma, Nicko embarks on the journey of a lifetime.

I thought it was lovely, it has a wonderful underlying message, believing in yourself and self worth, and not allowing bullies to win and upset you, and i think that is a very important lesson for children to learn.

There are some very scary wolves in here though so be warned, but kids see more violence on tv every day so its nothing too sinister.

All in all, a very enjoyable Christmas film..

A reindeer, joined by a flying squirrel and a stoat? (not sure about that one) goes off to find his father - a member of Santa's Flying Forces ("We're reindeer, not horses, we're Santa's Flying Forces") and ends up saving Christmas from the bad guys, who plan to eat Santa and his Flying Forces, and take over. This is quite a problem for me, because the bad guys are...wolves! Why oh why, do they have to be wolves - they aren't bad! Although I've got to say, these wolves were. This is where, I feel an error in the film certification has occurred. It is a tad dark in some places, and I personally think it maybe should have been a PG, it's classified as a U. Taking all the above things in consideration, and in conclusion I have to say it is an enjoyable Christmas romp.

If I could leave 0 start feedback, I would! What the synopsis doesn't say is; how scary this is for little ones. There's NO mention that the 'adventure' Niko is in, is to escape from wolves (snarling, nasty wolves) because the wolves want to eat the pack of reindeer!!! Granted my little boy is only 2.5 but he watched it for 20-30 mins and begged me to turn it off. I almost gave this to him for a Christmas Eve treat, thank god I didn't!!!!

I didn't get chance to watch it to the end but if you're buying this for 2, 3 or 4ish year olds, I'd suggest you find something else. It's not very Christmassy, and I'm a bit miffed it doesn't even have a mention of wolves anywhere on the dvd, on the cover or on the synopsis.

I bought this DVD for my 5yr old son and he hasn't put it down. He's watched it so much that he knows it word for word and sings the songs all the time. The graphics and story are excellent and I would have no hesitation in recommending this film to anyone!

Brought this for my 2 year old after she had watched 'The Snowman' over and over again. I was desperate for another Christmas film. This was a breath of fresh air after the 100th time of 'I'm walking in the Air' (I used to Love the snowman to). well worth a watch.

I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old grandson who absolutely loved it. He has watched it 3 times already and we have only had it for a few days. There are some scary bits but he loved it all.

I brought this to give as a Christmas present for the Christmas eve hampers I do for my child and my friends children. It arrived in a timely manner and in very good condition, the dvd itself is a real good watch, definitely something to bring out year after year.

My 5 year old loves this film, the story is simple enough and the animation good but what draws my lad to it is that he engages with the characters and has a good few laughs along the way, easy viewing for adults as well.
