The first thing I noticed when opening the package was that the actual product was slightly different from some of the photographs posted on Amazon and indeed those on the box of the product itself. In some photographs the body of the keyboard appears to have a matte light grey plastic finish. Mine has a sprayed on metallic (silver) finish, which looks a little cheap and is cold to the touch. If I were to be a little unkind, I would say that it looks like a biscuit tin lid with an integrated keyboard.

On the upside it's a nice biscuit tin lid. The keyboard is light and slimline. It is easy to set up and connects quickly.

As a cover it fits well to the Ipad 2, but might be a little tight when clipped onto other models.
(I personally won't be using it as a cover, partly because I fear that it will damage my screen protector while clipping and unclipping.)

When you put the white iPad longways in the slot, (thereby using the product as a stand), it looks pretty stylish, somewhat like a slimline netbook. However, when you do this, you will also discover a fundamental design flaw. The iPad is slightly too heavy for keyboard, so when you put the iPad in the slot, the keyboard doesn't lie completely flat on a hard surface. This means that there can be rocking and banging as you type. The screen is not fixed in place and wobbles in the slot, which is annoying in itself, but I would also worry that with prolonged usage the sharp edges of the clips that keep the iPad in place could cause some damage.

For me, the product does not work well as a stand. However, if you place the keyboard on a softer surface like your lap, or a magazine, they absorb the shock and minimize the problem.

The keyboard itself is a little small. Initially, I found typing within the restricted space tight and muscularly tiring, and that due to the small keys, I was making more mistakes and dropping more characters than usual. After a few days, I got used to it, but those with bigger hands might find it more difficult.

The keys are flimsy and can be a little unresponsive if you don't make a good contact, particularly the bigger keys such as the Backspace and Enter. I also have concerns about the keyboard's durability.

Overall I would say that this is a decent product for the price. It is light, slimline and portable. As a cover it works quite well, but as a stand it leaves a lot to be desired. The keyboard is functional if a little flimsy. In my opinion it is a useful accessory at a good price, but far from ideal.

I was dubious about ordering this product as it seemed too stylish for the price, however I did and I'm more than pleased . It took less than two minutes ( after charging) to get it up and running and works flawlessly. It also acts as a cover for the screen as well as stand and clicks effortlessly into place. The Silver colour matches the I Pad 2 and looks extremely smart . In fact it looks that good I'm surprised it wasn't Apple themselves who designed it!
I bought it for my partner but within 24 hours of casting envious eyes on it I've ordered one for myself to replace my bespoke cover bought from the Apple store.
Caveats? The only things preventing the award of five stars is ; firstly the on / off button is very small and I wonder how durable it wil be over time? Secondly be aware that there is no mouse on the keyboard and you still have to use your finger on the touch screen to fulfill this function. After a few minutes you soon get used to it and it actually works just as well.
In conclusion this item is worth buying just for its styling and as a stand, without the added benefit of a keyboard. Highly recommend it.

After having bought a Ipad2 leather cover and keyboard which was a nightmare due to its terrible rubber keys, from another source,I was a little worried when I ordered this hard stand aluminium case and keyboard. However, it works perfectly and the keys work like a proper keyboard. It also arrived very promptly. Good value for money!

I really love this case-keyboard. It is extremely neat and clever. Two things not so perfect though: 1) the keyboard layout is a bit narrower than the standard one so it takes a while to get used to. But given the width of the iPad there's nothing you can do about this. 2) the space key is a little obscured by the edge, when typing fast the edge seems to be in the way. This could probably be remedied by tweaking the design of the product a little.

Overall a very good product, especially considering the amazing price.

i was looking at ipad keyboard cases at various brick and mortar stores and they were all over 90 USD. I was only expecting a barely passable product for the low price on amazon but was pleasantly surprised when i opened and started using this keyboard with my ipad 2 (currently typing on this).

The keys have a satisfying click and are quite pleasurable to use. size is about equivalent to a netbook so may be difficult to use for people with large hands. For me the size is quite acceptable. i have been able to use the keyboard with my ipad 2 and my iphone 4. My colleague tried to fit it onto his ipad 1 but it is not designed to fit well on that device.

this item is a bargain for the price!!

Pros : Extremely lightweight, absolute doddle to set up, thin even when closed together with iPad. Screen slots effortlesly into place at a comfortable angle for typing. As a touch typer its fantastic to have full keyboard AND touch screen functionality working so well together. This looks like an 'Apple' product - I have a white keyboard with a white iPad and they look made for each other. In fact when I opened the delivery package up at work one of my colleagues saw it and immediately went online and ordered one for herself!

Cons : Very easy to scratch the base. I didn't keep it in any type of protective case for the first couple of weeks, just loose in my bag, and I regret it as there are now numerous scratches/marks. There is a plastic lip/frame around the edge of the keyboard and this takes a bit of getting used to. I can't comment on the robustness yet, but tbh if it does fail after a few months I'd be very likely purchase another to replace it at this price.

A stylish keyboard that looks nice on my iPad 2. It fit's nicely to the iPad when not in use and doubles as a screen protector.

As a touch-typist, I've found the key board on my i-Pad very frustrating to use, so I bought this to make typing easier. It's brilliant and excellent value. It's really light and holds the i-Pad firmly at an angle so it's like having a mini lap-top. The only downside is that it has a $ key where the pound key usually is and the @ sign is in a different place too - but it's not been a problem.

This keyboard worked only once and was very poorly made, the outer case did not fit the inside plastic component's so I could not switch it on and off after just one try. Returned and bought a brilliant replacement, 4 times the cost but love it and its high standard of workmanship as I travel a lot I needed a robust and well built one.
This was my first return to Amazon and I was very impressed how easy and how quick my refund was.
