Becasuwe I love Stephen Fry and I love language. As an academic working in linguistics and with a particular interest in taboo, slang, and odd language in all its forms, this series is fascinating and really fun.

Stephen Fry continues to delight and enthral us as he discusses in his inimitable way the development of human language. His voice alone is a pleasure to listen to and combined with interesting and informative content it makes the development of language an attractive and interesting subject. It is notable too that he connects with people of all races and ages. It gives us pleasure to see him interact with children. He rather resembles a giant teddy bear with a velvet voice. This is a series that is well worth watching and listening to.
