5.0 out of 5 stars soil erosion, 26 Dec 2011
This must be one of the best books I have read about the sustainability of our most precious resource - soil. So many thoughts and ideas of how it has been, and still is being abused; yet the survival of our civilisation depends entirely upon it. This should be a standard book for all agricultural libraries around the world and should be read by everybody working in farming or farm advisors. Really a superb book to get the grey cells working! Buy it now and learn before it is too late....

5.0 out of 5 stars Everyone should read it!, 18 July 2011
I am an agronomist so I guess I am prejudiced, but I loved the story and the message about the repeated abuse of the world's soil by successive so called "civilisations" and the fact that the current so called "civilisation" is about to repeat the mistake, but this time on a global sacle, and at a time when the global population is going to be beyond the planet's ability to sustain it.
