5.0 out of 5 stars Precious Metals
Feist is one of my two favourite contemporary female singers - Joan Wasser [Joan As Policewoman] being the other - and the Canadian songstress' first release since 2007's superb and acclaimed 'The Reminder' provides more of that same excellence. The tracks vary from the cleverly orchestrated by - to name only a few - horns, violin, broken-fuzzed guitar, various...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as her last
All albums take a few listens until you've got them. This one is taking too many. We expected a lot more, given the rave reviews.

Saw her on Later and was impressed. A good album with only a couple of weaker tracks. Most are top class.
Talented and experienced - and original.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning and charming, 3 Dec. 2011

This woman is 100 percent gold!So happy to have chanced upon her amazing releases, they are all so different, yet all so brilliant. She must own one of the loveliest voices ever and so very adaptable, sometimes melting your heart and other times striding forward. This cd shows a great step forward in her musical vistas and I just hope she keeps producing albums of this high quality and variety for many years to come,I cannot fault any of her works at all.To me, at the moment, there seem to be an awful lot of female artists out there producing brave and original music, really taking risks. For example,Anna Calvi,Julie Marcell,Joan As Police Woman,St Vincent,Agnes Obel,A Fine Frenzy,Imogen Heap,Jenny Hval and so on.Never forgetting the long serving and still innovative Tori Amos,Bjork and the dynamite Ani DiFranco. What has happened to the other half of the population?!!!

Feist was new to me. Heard a session of hers on Sky Arts. Enjoyed it so bought the CD. She is very much in the same vein as Dido, but a bit more upbeat. Enjoyed all the tracks.
The CD arrived within the specified postage window. Overall, very pleased with my purchase.

Bold sounds, strong melodies - it's almost like going back in time. A very good record with standout tracks How Come You Never Go There, and Graveyard;and other highlights such as A Commotion, and The Circle Married the Line. It has the rather cold, hard sound of recordings from the 90s onwards, and fades somewhat towards the end, but still the best new thing I've heard all year by some distance.
