...really; both Lang and his recording label seek perfection and you get a glimpse of it on this CD.
Lang's playing is full of pathos in the Hungarian Rapsody, and of lyricism in the Liebestraum. The Reminiscenses fall somewhat short of the ideal, but if you weren't touched by the playing in the other pieces, there must be something wrong with you.
Certainly we miss that extra mile, talking about perfection, provided for example by Kissin and his technique, but even him would struggle to match Lang's singing tone in the Liebestraum.
Shame this CD runs only for half an hour; were I less pleased with the results would withdraw a star in my rating, for the lack of 'filling', or some other beautiful works performed by this young talent!
