5.0 out of 5 stars Shaw at the BBC, 6 July 2009

(REAL NAME)
Essential reading for scholars of the 1930s BBC. Extremely well written with very important and extensive appendices. Shaw's character as an accentric, egotistical and difficult visionary comes over strongly in Conolly's authoritative account. An important book both for Shaw scholars (to whom it is principally addressed) and also BBC historians interested in '30s talks and the management of the literary elite.
