4.0 out of 5 stars A great book for OTs studying or working in neurology, 24 Aug. 2001
By A Customer
The individual chapters enable the reader to break down the areas assessed and treated when working with or studying neurological conditions. There are chapters on Cognitive and Perceptual assessment etc. and also clear explanations of the WHO definitions of stroke. The book is great for use as a department textbook for occupational therapists to delve into for revision of one area and is on the reading list of OT training establishment including Southampton School as a guide to stroke and neuro generally. An all round useful addition to any OTs library or students purchases for their course.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant book for both students and qualified OT's, 1 Jun. 2011
This book is extremely easy to follow as it breaks down all aspects and effects of Stroke. It also suggests potential interventions when working with people with Stroke. I read this book throughout my placement and found that it explained things well and covered all topics that I came across in the setting. This book discusses how to prevent any further complications such as subluxed shoulder, and addresses potential cognitive/perceptual issues. Extremely useful book, recommended by many people.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good all round text, 24 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a very good reference book for OT's in Stroke. It looks at evidence based approaches and treatments and relates to Stroke guidelines well. It is obviously a little outdated now but I have found it a useful book in practice.
