5.0 out of 5 stars To Kill a Queen, 4 July 2011
This review is from: To Kill a Queen (An Inspector Faro Mystery No.6) (Kindle Edition)
Queen Victoria doesn't appear in many novels, but she has a starring role in this nail-biting mystery of Faro's bid to save a national disaster.

Fine characterisation, evocative Victorian atmosphere and a nerve tingling plot skilfully handled to hold from start to finish in Faro's race against time.

If Robert Louis Stevenson had written whodunits, Faro is just the detective he would have created.

Lots of twists and turns. Away from Edinburgh to the Highlands Faro is asked to investigate the death of two of her Majestys dogs. This leads to a confrontation with an old adversary, a meeting with an old flame. The adversary is out to kill the Queen with his usual intuition Faro realises that the wanted man is playing two roles and saves her.

This was a good book if a little predictable. Inspector Faro is a good detective but His step-son doesn't seem to do much 'doctoring' in any of the books!

Another good read. Very easy and not always predictable outcome. Faro and Vince seem to always get their man or woman in the end.
