4.0 out of 5 stars The Digital Wolf
The second book is even better than the first. David Ash (custodian to Stratford and surrounding areas) is out jogging when he is attacked by a wolf - well Fenris to be exact - and so the plot thickens to include a machine and technology take over, another Norse descendant and a fight to save the world. Jon Rosenberg's Hidden Academy books are well written, creative and...

3.0 out of 5 stars The Digital Wolf
I started to read Pantheon and soon realised that it was not the first book in the series from references to previous events. I went onto the Kindle site and eventually was led to "The Unicorn Crises" which I found a good read and not unlike Ben Aaronovitch's PC Peter Grant series. Following the correct sequence I then started to read "The Digital Wolf". My enjoyment of...

3.0 out of 5 stars The Digital Wolf, 5 Jan 2014

I started to read Pantheon and soon realised that it was not the first book in the series from references to previous events. I went onto the Kindle site and eventually was led to "The Unicorn Crises" which I found a good read and not unlike Ben Aaronovitch's PC Peter Grant series. Following the correct sequence I then started to read "The Digital Wolf". My enjoyment of this book was reduced massively by the considerable number of errors, word omissions and basic writing oversights.
All of these would have been corrected if a proof reader or editor had been involved in the publishing of this book and I feel that Amazon Kindle should accept part of the blame for allowing it's sale without checking the quality of the writing. I have since finished reading it and am well into "Pantheon of the Dead" which is a very good, exciting and somewhat bloodthirsty follow up, well written and carefully checked.
Pantheon stretches the imagination hugely and I hope that Jon has sufficient material left for further books in this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Digital Wolf, 3 Nov 2014

The second book is even better than the first. David Ash (custodian to Stratford and surrounding areas) is out jogging when he is attacked by a wolf - well Fenris to be exact - and so the plot thickens to include a machine and technology take over, another Norse descendant and a fight to save the world. Jon Rosenberg's Hidden Academy books are well written, creative and imaginative, packed with action, plots and strategies - a really great read. Only downside is the editting issues but they do not detract from the storyline. I'm off to start book 3.
Read the books you will not be disappointed.

The second Hidden Academy book doesn't disappoint. It really was a book to devour in one sitting if possible.
David Ash has just about recovered from the injury he received at the end of the first book. Out jogging to help his return to fitness he narrowly avoids death by wolf. Huge unbelievable wolf. Fenris of Norse legend has been freed.
Then his boss Christina Rosetti is admitted to hospital in a coma. And the lift tries to kill David too....
I loved this.

An excellent read, the characters are well rounded and the plot is very imaginative, I like the mix of urban life and mythology.

Like these stories and the clever humor that is in them, especially when it is against the character himself. JL

The second in the series and as good as the first. Please read them in sequence.
If you like Mike Carey, Jim Butcher or Kim Harrison you will enjoy this.
Thank you Mr Rosenberg.
