Have tried two other cheap USB adapters for my laptop, as my headphone output housing fell apart. I bought a couple of other USB adapters from here that either fell apart or stopped working after a matter of days... Third time lucky. plug and play, installs itself in 20 seconds and the sound quality is identical to my laptop soundcard, if not better. No more static! i will hold my breath but this unit seems like it won't fall apart, and it's from Logitech so it should be pretty reliable. I'll re-review if it stops working for any reason, buy one!

Arrived quickly (Straight through letterbox without being signed for). Good quality. PC win 8.1 installed automatically without any problems.
I have used this with 'Audacity' music editor and the 'Mic' input via the USB adapter acts as a 'line in' with good audio quality. (The PC mic input quality was poor). With Headphones plugged in at the same time, Audacity could switch output between the headphones and pc speakers without needing to keep unplugging the headphones - bonus. So shouldn't wear out or damage the jack so quick. I'd recommend this product. Should save the laptop jacks getting damaged too.

I ordered this product because I have the iMac 27 inch computer and it comes with a single in / out jack for either headphone or microphone. I use my computer for flight simulation which uses audio in and out as part of the experience. The microphone on the mac picked up all the background noise and all other people could hear was the background noise. Enter (Stage Left) the Logitech USB To 3.5mm Jack Audio Adapter!!! What a product. The sharpness of the sound in and out is absolutely incredible. A must for those in the same predicament as me or even those whose headphone jack on PC has broken. Great product. Great price because you pay for quality!

Just got it through the mail there.

Currently using a 2009 Macbook Pro with the Creative Fatal1ty Headset.

Reason I purchased this is due to the Macbook not having a headphone port, only a line-in port.

Fantastic, no feedback problems nor any major problems I've came across since plugging it in. Didn't need to install anything, just automatically works and came up on Sound in the system preferences.

Tested it out with Teamspeak and Skype, both work and it's clear.

This didn't come with a volume control, so had to find another add-on to control volume of input, so only 50% of what I wanted. Only discovered need for volume control after buying and testing out. So if you need this for an iMac look for one that includes volume control.

This device worked perfectly from the start. I read the reviews of a few devices and decided to spend a little more money to be sure it works. Works fine, nothing fancy - I am happy.

Product is certainly bigger than expected and took longer to arrive.
Takes a while to install drivers properly and can be fiddly.
However quintessentially it retains the sound quality of the audio excellently with just a hint of tinniness and fuzz in the background but if you have lower quality headphones then the difference is virtually undetectable.

Brilliant product. Worth the money, don't bother with the other choices.

The mic function of my computer was not functioning. I suspect the on-board sound card went wrong (It was a relatively old computer). I use Skype a lot and cannot work without audio function. As a quick solution, I bought this USB audio adaptor for £14.50. There were other cheaper options but the reviews for those cheaper ones varies. I went Logitech as it is a trusted brand. The adaptor works well.

Disappointed - I was wanting to use this to record stereo from an amplifier into a laptop, via a USB socket. After raising the question on Amazon, I was under the impression that this device would be suitable. Sadly, the microphone input socket on the device is only mono (not stereo); so not much use for my needs. The headphone socket is stereo, but this is only an output socket.

I purchased this item after the audio jack inside my laptop had broken, it arrived quickly, worked instantly after being plugged in and provided excellent sound quality with no white noise, even at higher volumes. I like the inclusion of the short cable to the jacks, so that the device and the headphone plug isn't sticking out too far perpendicular to the laptop.

Unfortunately despite the external build quality of the adapter, after just over a month of use the audio will cut out to one side of my headphones, and require replugging in the headphones or some slight wiggling to achieve stereo again. There doesn't seem to be any simple way of fixing this in the long term, so I guess it's an annoyance I'll have to put up with every time the adapter is accidently moved.

There doesn't appear to be many other complaints about the internals of the device breaking, so I would recommend it for long-term use over the cheaper usb to audio adapters which often have worse sound quality.
