Cheap product, the spanner that came with the item basicly broke instantly on first use, however i had a spanner that would fit it right. The actual puller worked for me on 3 cranks that needed pulling off. But the last one was imensly difficult to get off and on closer inspection the threads where becoming very knackered, i don't think it will be pulling many more cranks,

So if you need this just to pull a couple of cranks off and you won't be needing it again, and you have an AJ then this is for you
If you want to regularly pull your crank off to clean it then don't buy this

I got this to take the cranks off my old bike. After no luck with getting the cranks off using other bits and bobs from my toolbox, I decided maybe I should get the proper tools to do the job. These do the job perfectly but the handle that came with it (which to be honest, I didn't realise I would get) was a bit on the weak side. It may be that the 2nd hand bike that hadn't been properly serviced before I got it, was all a bit siezed up, but the handle bent and nearly broke when trying to remove the drive side crank. I ended up using a spanner, and got the crank of eventually.

One word of warning though, I also found the the end of the 'pusher' go into the square taper of my bottom bracket. It didn't seem to do too much, but it was still a little unnerving and I was worried it would damage the threads.

Anyway, decent tool at a decent price, but I may eventually go for one of the heavy duty ones with the built in handle.

I couldn't believe I would need a specialist tool just to remove the crank of my son's bike, but I did. So, I bit the bullet and ordered the cheapest one I could find from the UK. It arrived promptly and did exactly what I needed it to do.

Got this the other day, bought this because it was cheap for a one off job of removing my crank. Too be honest I wasn't expecting much for the money, so I shouldn't have been too disappointed that the spanner part failed almost instantly. The actual puller itself seems reasonably well made, I couldn't get a good grip on the spanner part and turn it, mainly due to the fact that it is quite thin and you can't really grip it (hurt my hand!) so I got out the trusty rubber mallet. about 10 hits later it was mashed, fortunately I had a spanner of the correct size and that worked a treat. I know it was cheap, but I don't think I can give it more than 3 stars as it isn't capable of doing the job, had it come without the spanner then it would have got 5 stars as the puller is fit for purpose. Buy it because it is cheap and you have good quality spanners at home, put the spanner included straight in the bin and you will not be disappointed!

As others have reviewed, the spanner is cheap rubbish and should be discarded as it will only bend anyway.

The crank puller works well, if treated carefully, I have removed multiple cranks without any damage to either the crank, bike or tool, but I get the feel it could break or strip thread if not fitted well before applying the pressure.

Additionally, as another reviewer reported, the crank puller puts pressure on the end of the threaded axle, so take care not to damage the thread.

I would recommend this for careful home occasional use, and it will be fine. But doubt it would stand up to regular or heavy use.

Tried all ways to remove crank spent hours trying. With puller removed in 30 seconds.

I will 4 star this tool, but Its only because I'm considering people who many not have spare tools.
The main tool which is the screw in cylinder part is perfect and works wonders when removing the pedals.

The little handle is the let down on this package, its thin and weak and twisted the first time I tried to use it. Pedals are held on by pressure and it requires some force to loosen them off, this makes the little handle useless as its not strong enough for this procedure, I suggest having a wrench or similar tool to use the main part with.

Apart from the that the main part works perfect.

this tool is very good and does the job well. But the spanner bit bent and snaped first use and was very short so if it was made stronger you still woudn't of had much leaverage.
