SUMMARY: Ideal for one person, or for more than one when you need caff. and decaff. and/or different coffee strengths. I bought several for maximum flexibility. Quick and easy to use, produces filter coffee in minutes, and takes only a moment to clean. Sturdy and looks smart. Recommended.

The instructions say it's dishwasher-proof. I haven't tested that (I'd try it first in the upper basket) as it cleans quickly and easily by hand.

Previously, I'd used single-use filters that incorporate the coffee, but they take up space, long-term they cost more and, importantly, they've a fixed portion of coffee. This permanent filter avoids those issues and is so handy if people like different coffee strengths or if someone wants decaff and another not (on rare occasions when everyone wants the same I fill a cafetiere). I didn't want a re-usable filter that requires buying filter papers.

The unit has three sections. Amazon's picture at time of writing shows filter unit (bottom of filter visible) with water regulator slotted into it, and the lid.
1. FILTER UNIT - rest it on a cup or mug then put in your desired measure of ground coffee.
2. WATER REGULATOR - slot into the filter unit, pour in boiling water, some for a cup, to the top for a mug (depends on cup/mug size).
3. LID - keeps things hot; designed so it can be inverted afterwards as a drip-catcher for the combined filter unit and water regulator.

If like me you love good coffee but more often than not are making it just for your self then this is in my opinion the best way by far of making a great coffee. I have tried pretty much every method from paper filters through esspresso makers, various coffee capsules machines and so on. So I have tried most methods, the makers claim that the gold filter lets the oils of the coffee through and so you get a better flavour, I think they are right. I have now had two of these for several years, one at home and one in the office. A spoon or two of ground coffee, some hot water and a splash of milk and perfect coffee every time. To clean just go to the bin tap the used grounds out and rinse under a tap easy. Highly recommended

I bought one of these as a birthday present for my mum. She the only coffee drinker in the house since we all grew up and moved away and has been looking for an easy way to make a single cup of proper coffee. She loves it and is very happy with how it filters. This is a great solution for people who want to make a decent cup of coffee but don't really need a coffee machine.

The ultimate in coffee accessories, portable for holidays, the workplace and home. At the price quoted clearly much cheaper than any coffee filtration system on the planet. No accessories needed i.e filter papers or jug to make this work, just ground coffee, cup and kettle. All the goodness of the coffee will come out in the brew including the oils! VERY LONGLASTING, had mine for over 10 years indeed virtually indestructable!

For months we had been trying to find some form of 'one cup filter coffee system' suitable for my wife. She had tried the complete systems with coffee and was not impressed, besides which, she has a particular ground coffee that she is very partial to. We trawled vast numbers of shops in the South East of England without success, she tried some which were useless and discounted most as not fit for purpose. In desperation she then started on the internet and finally she found the Swiss Gold One Cup Coffee Filter, which appeared to meet her critical requirements. It was ordered, arrived and was in use within three days and she is thrilled with it. It is sturdy and so will last, it works perfectly and gives my wife just the 'cuppa' that she was looking for. Peace has returned to our household !

I've had one one of these for about 7 years and use it twice a day, pretty much every day. I grind the beans on a medium setting in my krups grinder (Krups Expert, GVX231, Burr Coffee Grinder), then shake the coffee into the filter until it completely covers the gold filter. A few minutes later, perfect freshly ground filter coffee.

Washing it is very quick, simply turn upside down under the tap and rinse out the coffee, takes a few seconds. Highly recommended!

I bought this several years ago for about £7.99. I think it's excellent and am still using it but I can't understand why it would more than double in price. I have previously bought these for friends but will be looking for an alternative now.

if you like a nice cup of coffee in the morning,this is the une for you.lovely smell of fresh coffee.easy to clean,great to take away on holiday and camping.go on diswasher(top shelv)and very good value for money.(ideal for une person).

A bit of a coffee snob, I find this an excellent alternative to paper filters, which produces consistent coffee strength and flavour. Suitable for one or two cups. Bought one about 5 years ago and the mesh has only just deteriorated after virtually twice a day use over that period.

I found that the coffee has not got to be too fine,course is best.
The water seems to be very fast running through the coffee.
This product is ok but not quite as good as I had hoped.
