While these speakers may sound quite good, they will not last very long if left switched on. I am an electronics engineer and when the one speaker failed, I took a look at the amp circuit inside... HORRIFIED, to say the least. no less than 4 caps were ready to explode, one had exploded, and a zena diode was red hot. Very poor construction is to blame. So, I contacted their support number only to be told to contact another number,.. (you know the story) No circuit diagram is available, no parts available... Conclusion- dont buy M-Audio again and scrap my one year old speakers.

These are good value for the money and nuances on your music collection which you may not have noticed before. The speakers come with inputs for standard speaker twin-wire or via double-ended 3.5mm jack. The twin-wire connects at the back but the AUX socket is on the front which doesn't make for an elegant fitting if that's your main usage.
And the advert doesn't mention that they come with a euro-plug, so you need to contact them for an adapter, or cut the plug off and re-wire, either way a bit tiresome.

I bought my set of speakers from Whistler Technology. They arrived in a massive box, which you could get at least ten sets of speakers.

There really is no difference between this model ( Version Ii) and the other version,M-Audio Studiophile Av30 Desktop Speakers you may see listed on Amazon as far as I can see.

Whistler Technology delivered the speakers and they arrived with with a Euro, plug. I dropped them an email about it, and they offered to exchange them, however, its a hassle, packing them back into the giant box and sending them back, so they refunded me £5.00 to pay for an euro to uk adaptor, which I was happy with.

The speakers, do have some issues, the power light, stopped working within a few days of use, but the speakers themselves work ok, a nice clean sound, easy to set up and easy on the ear.

If you take a look on the Avid support forum, (forums.m-audio.com) you'll see that, there are a number of people complaining about several issues with the StudioPhile and other speakers that are supplied into the world market.

Take care when you buy these and make sure the company you buy from has a really good returns policy

I've had these speakers for about a year and I honestly cannot complain one bit. Got them as I don't have the space or the ££ for a high quality surround sound set. I'm no audiophile but I do appreciate a good set of speakers, but wanted the best quality sound I could afford. These certainly fit the bill, with music, games, TV shows, and films all high quality. Highly recommended.
