4.0 out of 5 stars A very good "indie" debut
Here we have a lawyer, Lou Mason, being set up for a fall as two of his partners are murdered and he loses his job. He decides to tackle the issues head-on with the support of a friend, a colleague and a policewoman who is a former FBI agent.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad
It is one of those books that I couldn't follow the threads. A bits and pieces type of novel. The main characters were not put together well

This review is from: Motion To Kill (Lou Mason Thrillers Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
Here we have a lawyer, Lou Mason, being set up for a fall as two of his partners are murdered and he loses his job. He decides to tackle the issues head-on with the support of a friend, a colleague and a policewoman who is a former FBI agent.

This is not a legal thriller in the traditional sense as there is no courtroom drama. The writing is not particularly stylish but the book does move well from the outset. The mystery element is high and just when you think all is resolved at around the 80% mark, Goldman does well to keep a thread or two running. Lou, who features in sequels Goldman has written, is a likable protagonist.

Though the plot is well-constructed and nonsense-free, a couple of coincidences do hold things together and some may be surprised by Lou's abilities to fight and shoot.

Happily, there were no formatting or editing issues with this Kindle version.

You won't be overly challenged by this novel, but you will find it to be an enjoyable and engaging read. I will certainly turn to the sequels.

Very good and I have since bought two more books by the same author one of which I am reading now. I can envisage working my way through the remainder of this authors work. So, if you enjoy reading semi-legal American thrillers buy this and subsequent books by this author - you won't be disappointed.

Picked at random ; a wise choice, just over one day to finish. A page turner that you can't really put down, well worth it.

Really enjoyed this book. Liked the characters. Storyline kept me thinking which was a bit annoying at times as I kept myself awake at night still thinking about the way the story was developing and who could be the one who was the culprit! Off to purchase book two as can not wait to see how characters develops. Great read

I enjoyed the credible storyline as well as the main character.Lou's "morality" is a fresh breeze. Not a "can't put down" book, but a nice relaxing read.
