I bought this product to try and solve the issue of what to do with my earphone cable when not using it. In principle the retractable idea is great. In practice this product simply doesn't work.
The mechanism is quite big and bulky. It is also positioned half way along the cable so if you clip the mechanism to your lapel to hold the weight, only half the cable is available to dangle down to your pocket/bag. However as I am over 6ft tall there simply isn't enough cable to reach my pocket so my mp3 player just dangles under my tee shirt.
The sound quality is not great for the price, I have bought better quality earphones for less than 50% of what I paid for these.
All in all great idea but this product fails to live up to it.

Good idea to have earphones with cord that retracts. I have lost count of the number if times i have spent ages trying to untangle my earphones and its especially annoying trying to do that and answer the phone at the same time - plus I have chucked earphones loads of times as the cable gets frayed, I am hopeful that wont happen to these as the cord is better protected. Sound quality is good. They are functional and ok for the price. Big downside is the motion of pulling out cord and retracting. The cord has got stuck a few times when i have tried to fully extend. I would use these as a spare pair of earphones that I have in my handbag rather than my main pair.

Very pleased with this purchase. Very good quality of sound and fantastic noise reduction. Although not a fan of ear bud earphones, I found this pair very comfortable. You can adjust the length of the cable and pin it to you clothes to get it out of the way, a feature that I found very handy while training at the gym.

These retractable earphones are excellent, far better than those provided with my current I-pod,once I had mastered the art of listening to them without the earbuds falling out,or the wire retracting of its own accord. The sound was much clearer and louder even at the same setting for volume I was previously using.
