[SPOILER FREE REVIEW! DON'T WORRY!]

If you loved the original Bioshock games set in Rapture, or if you've never played them before, you owe it to yourself to play this game. For me, it's the best of the 2013 so far.

Essentially, it's a smart, complex story with high production values, 'smuggled in' with FPS gameplay.

Ken Levine's writing is, as always, innovative - rarely do games go this deep. Rarely can they be analysed as literature and film can.

Oh, and if you're not a fan of the awful 'character & logo' box-art (which afflicts pretty much every game in the west), you'll find that there's a classier one on the reverse side.

I'm not going to say too much in this review, I'm just going to recommend it. The gameplay is fun, but the narrative should be the real reason you play this game, and it delivers.

Just one piece of advice though: before you play, turn the framerate lock off in the options menu. It'll make the game run much smoother for the majority of the time.

Go on. Treat yourself.

When i got this i couldnt help but think it was going to be a little like Bioshock 2. I'm so glad i was wrong.
Even though your still wondering around a city, now that your in the open air the gameplay feels more open then the last games, even more so with the Skyhook system, which gave it an amazing twist in terms of movement.

But i'm 50-50 on the lack of multiplayer, on the one side its good thing as this might not of worked with this but on the other side the addition of the Skyhook would of added to some decent multiplayer action. But either way i'm happy with it for now.
The single player is great fun with the whole two weapons only deal, the Vigors you can switch between anytime but you can only hold two weapons. The addition of gear (clothing) is a smart twist as well, giving different power ups and effects which you can only have four of at a time.

In all its a great game and worth the buy.

I am not the biggest fan of FPS, but this game is so much more!
I recommend it to everyone, and anyone!

I hate FPS's.Let's get that out in the open first. The thought of playing COD leaves me cold....but,but...I'd seen so many good reviews of Bioshock Infinite I thought I'd give it a go.So putting my normal prejudice aside I paid out for a copy. And do you know what?I love it.i think the opening scenes up to the temple in Columbia are the best I've seen and heard in a video game.Great sound, great vision. The game does tend to be clear all the goons, move on,clear all the goons, move on but these moments are mixed in with an intriguing narrative. You want to know what is behind the facade of Columbia and who Elizabeth is.It is a relatively short journey to the climax of the story but it is one you want to reach.I can't wait for the future DLC releases to get more of my fix of Columbia. So I love Bioshock Infinite but it still hasn't made me start to like FPS'S generally.

I now own this and may never play it. Just like all my other Playstation+ games apart from Spellunky... I'm not sure that there is a point of other games after Spellunky...? I'm serious, what is your argument for other games? Co-operative play: GOT IT! Competitive play: GOT IT! MMORPGness??? Who needs it... there's no one playing those things these days, you can be just as alone in a digital world in Spellunky.

I may play Bioshock one day, seeing as I own it... I heard that they tried really hard to tell a story with deep philosophical and political meaning. That does sound like it would be both educational and culturally enriching... but it's not like traversing endless random dungeons while hunting for treasure and surviving on your wits and reflexes.

Spellunky has a FREEZE GUN and a Teleport Machine!

5 Stars!
