5.0 out of 5 stars "..TOP SPLATTER GOREFEST.."
This is a brilliant sequel to one of the coolest horrors in the last ten years, Hatchet 2 is more brutal, more bloody and more intense than the first and has a great story too with more insight into the Crowley family, This movie starts off right from where the original left off with Danielle Harris taking over as the lead actress, she is great and does a good job! 2.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing standards american horror
If you thought the first one was dissapointing, then prepare to be even more dissapointed. It's difficult to give away any plot spoilers on this one as there isn't really any plot. Watch the first one again and imagine what a sequel would be like rather than buying this.

I absolutely love this film! It harks back to the old splatter films of the 80's and that isn't a bad thing! It's the kinda film that'll make you laugh at the gore rather than hide behind the sofa...!

After watching the extras to the first Hatchet, I saw a second was made, so watched it online before buying, and have to say this is a great sequel! Still the same gore as before, and the story line wasn't some random rubbish that didn't fit in.

Much gorier and a better story too this time out for the Hatchet series of movies. I like that the sequels both start the moment the previous film finished. Some good appearances for horror character actors Danielle Harris (Halloween),Tony Todd (Candy Man) and Kane Hodder (Jason.) Less well known faces that appear are Tom Holland (Director of Fright Night and Child's Play) and John Carl Buechler (Effects for Ghoulies, Friday the 13th VII, From Beyond and the list goes on) Danielle Harris takes over the lead role in part 2 from Tamara Feldman playing the Marybeth character.

If you love gory slasher movies give this a try....

A kind of laughable take on the horror genre bt entertaining and original none the less. Some good effects and suspense building with a not taking itself too seriously backdrop. Refreshing to see a horror movie that's not a remake or a copy of what's already out there

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the first, 3 Aug 2012

The first Hatchet was a slasher parody of sorts while maintaining everything you would want from a slasher. Many slasher movies have had sequels with ridiculous plots and explanations and Hatchet II parodies this with the very strange story of the Victor Crowley curse I won't give it away but it was very ludicrous, no way believable, could not be taken seriously and definitely up there with Halloween 6 with ridiculous plots.

The body count is much larger in this one though it does take a little longer to cut to the chase, the gore is way over the top and brilliant. Kane Hodder does a great job again if you were to put a hockey mask on him this would have been a great Friday the 13th sequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the Horror, 15 Nov 2011

Hatchet 2 is worth buying and having in your collection, Perry plays a good role and the horror never lets up, Bite your finger tips as your nerves go to pieces and the suspense keeps you guessing. Played by excellant actors who portrayed their roles so convincing that it seemed so real, Loved the concept of the story and enjoyed the movie greatly. Robyn

Excellent movie imo. I really enjoyed the first one, and yes its nothing cerebral, but if you enjoy old school gore and slasher plot lines, then this movie is for you. As the tag line on the first movie says, its not a re-make, its not a sequel and its not a japanese one, that on itself should make you want to watch these series of movies. Just sit back and enjoy. Triple Halloween treat is this, Drag me to Hell and Trick r Treat.Great extras on the blu ray also.
