5.0 out of 5 stars Read it!, 24 Dec 2001
When bards gather for Silverymoon's Spring Faire something mysterious is amiss. The old ballads have been changed and new ones escalated into popularity--causing Harper Danilo Thann, amateur bard and professional wastriel to be the most popular musician/songwriter around. However these altered songs tend to reveal Harper secrets and cause ill will towards his great-uncle and mentor, Khelben Arunsun who assigns Danilo with the task of setting things right. Forced to team up with rogue moon elf Elaith Craulnobler to retrieve a scroll, the dragon they must face might very well be the least of Danilo's worries.
This book was excellent and exactly what I've come to expect from Elaine Cunningham. If you enjoy Harper lore, or merely the refreshing light-hearted humour with which Danilo faces his challenges, this is a must read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, re-issued, 13 Sep 2004
Another excellent piece of work from Elaine Cunningham, and one that any Harpers fan should have in their collection. In fact, a Harpers fan should already have it, as it is the same book as vol 8 in the Harpers series. If you haven't already got it, it's worth getting, in either form.
